USC OC Tee Martin 'disappointed' not to get interview with Tennessee

Im just gonna call it like it is. T Martin is a black man and Tennessee will never hire a black coach. They interviewed the Black D coordinator before T Martin. They didn't have no intentions of hire neither coaches. He didn't get a interview that's the sad part. As a black man these type of things we are always up against. Its sad that no top tier team called him for a interview. How and the hell any team give butch a shot as a head coach, but u know what he will get another shot and he will get a call before T- Martin. Smh Keep ur head up T Martin u will get ur opportunity. If not go HBCU schools and build ur resume there

You sir, are a fool.

As a person of color (many :)), I don't think race was an issue. This turned out to be such a crazy situation that Phil had to do everything possible to get it right. With all things considered you can't go wrong with a Saban disciple.

As a black man, you don't know your UT history and are full of ****.

Charlie Strong, Cuonzo Martin, Wade Houston, Condredge Holloway, Larry Robinson, Lester McLain, Richmond Flowers, Tony Robinson, Jimmy Streater, Wilbert Cherry... learn something about them before coming around here and acting like a fool.

Also, #53 was the first number hung from the ceiling at the Thompson-Boling Arena. Not #53 and #22. #53 was first. Get you some of that and gtho of here with your race baiting nonsense.

This comment is sad.. smh How come Peyton is more respected at Tennessee than T Martin? T deserves the same love Manning get and the last time I checked T Martin was a winner. Hell he won a National Championship for Gods sake. Peyton didn't even deliver a championship. T deserved a interview just as much as Pruitt in my opinion

Peyton was the starting QB on TN's first outright, undisputed SEC championship team in over 30 years.

Peyton doesn't whine about TN, doesn't put down TN, and Peyton constantly gives back to TN.

Richmond Flowers? The dual football-track athlete? World class in high hurdles as well as a standout receiver/running back? He was a player when I was growing up but not sure he belongs in this list if meant to include former coaches who are also persons of color...

The connection is with his father. The Flowers weren't real popular in Alabama because of their stance on civil rights.

Anyone even Sean Salisbury’s thoughts on this topic last night on Twitter? Checkout his timeline @seanunfiltered

He is a USC guy and thinks Tee is in over his head and that we got lucky by not hiring him. Says Darnold has kept Tee from getting fired with his talent. Also said Tyson Helton was “raw” and that “time will tell” how he does as OC at Tennessee.

Great job by Tee's USC offense last night, huh?

He needs to stay in Hollywood where everyone has a problem understanding the difference with fantasy and reality.

The way OSU totally destroyed USC in the bowl game makes me wonder if lots of USC coaches don't need to be replaced especially Tee since their O was totally horrid.

I despise Urban CRYer and the OSU SUCKeyes but they made USC look like a high school team.

Darnolds draft stock also took a serious hit IMO.

VFL...GBO!!!

After watching the bowl game last night, I'm okay with him not coming to TN. His day will come, just not yet. Go Vols!

Greg Schiano's Resume:

* 68-67 college record (50.4%)
* 1 really good season in 11 (with Ray Rice), the only season that his team ended the season ranked
* 4-18 against ranked opponents
* outscored by ranked opponents 779-415 over career, with an average per game score of 35-19
* 11-21 NFL record (34.4%)
* hated by his own players in NFL
* hated by most of the rest of the NFL
* employed questionable tactics, including blitzing the other team while they were in victory formation. Last year, the Rams did something similar, and in the game summary, the author actually said that the Rams "pulled a Schiano"
* cursed out by Peyton Manning
* hasn't had a head coaching job since getting canned by Tampa Bay in 2013. Unknown whether anyone has even approached him with a job
* may have witnessed, and covered up, one of the most heinous ongoing criminal act in college sports history

I’m not an attorney, but if I read this info (below)which came public 12 months or so ago, you can’t touch him as a university. Even if he’s completely innocent, it isn’t fair, but there’s a myriad of potential headaches this might cause or Pandora’s box from former victims and families etc. Again, it’s probably not fair, but doubt any university will give him an head coaching position without thorough legal due diligence.

Here is the direct question-and-answer session between McQueary and Paul Gagne, the lawyer representing Pennsylvania Manufacturers Association Co. over reimbursement for civil settlements paid to 32 people who presented themselves as Sandusky victims, that pertains to Schiano:

Q: "Did he tell you that he had information concerning Gerald Sandusky and children?''

McQueary: "He said he knew of some things.''

Q: "And did he tell you what he knew of?''

McQueary: "Yeah.''

Q: "What did he tell you?''

McQueary: "He said another assistant coach had come to him in the early '90s about a very similar situation to mine, and he said that he had -- someone had come to him as far back as the early '80s about seing Jerry doing something with a boy.''

Q: "Did he identify who the other coaches were that had given him this information?''

McQueary: "The one in the early '90s, yes.''

Q: "And who was that?''

McQueary: "Greg Schiano.''

Q: "Greg Schiano?''

McQueary: "Yes.''

Q: "And did he give you any details about what Coach Schiano had reported to him?''

McQueary: "No, only that he had -- I can't remember if it was one night or one morning, but that Greg had come into his office white as a ghost and said he just saw Jerry doing something to a boy in the shower. And that's it. That's all he ever told me.''

Q: "Did he tell you what, if anything, he had done about that.

(Following an objection) McQueary said: "No, he didn't share that with me.''

It’s clear that Ty Helton was a crucial part to the USC offense and that Tee Martin is a horrible OC.

K-Town will prolly say that Tee still had 100% Control.

Dude give it a rest. Even Clay Helton said Tee calls all the plays. I guess he is lying though, huh?:thud:

He gets input from the other two. It was a bad game against a superior opponent. It happens.

If we had to go with an unproven head coach, I would be happy with giving Tee the shot. Recruits would love him, a lot of VFLs would be thrilled with the hire as well. Tee did so much for TN, I could much easier stomach his learning on the job than someone with zero connection to the program.

Yet you have been shown articles from last year and this year that tee doesn’t have complete control.

Because that always works out so well (McElwain, Muschamp, Dooley....)

How about Kirby Smart?

Let's see how Kirby's doing in two years before we anoint him king of the East. He still has lots of Richt's players.
Btw, you played Kirby, so I'll raise you a Sunseri.
