Made the right got decision to not come here to work for Jones and have his career derailed. Besides, I’ve heard Jones low balled him and all but offended Tee with the actual offer. He’s in a really good spot at USC, don’t blame him at all, he made the best decision for himself.

McElwain won the East twice in 2 years

Muschamp has an 11 win season and was ranked 4th going into the bowls (would have been a playoff team)

Dooley, yea he was complete garbage, but everyone could see that. Also he was a position coach under Saban, not a coordinator

Hey man, T could be the offensive coordinator for the New england Patriots....win 5 straight superbowls, and yet the color of his skin would cause some to find a reason he shouldn't be the head coach at Tennessee.

Now im all for pruitt, but anybody who thought schiano deserved to be here more than T should put their offspring in a cell with Sandusky himself.

I love Tee and all the guys on that 1997 team. It was hardly the best Tennessee team I’ve ever seen but somehow they just produced magic that season.

But it’s categorically wrong and just downright ignorant to say that was the only team in modern history to “exhibit even one minute speck of relevance”. That’s just not true. 1985, 1989, 1995, 1996, 1997, 2001. All of those teams were very much locally, regionally and nationally relevant, no matter how you slice it....unless you’re trying to argue that unless you win a national title, your team can’t “exhibit even one minute speck of relevance”....you’re surely not saying that, are you?

This comment is sad.. smh How come Peyton is more respected at Tennessee than T Martin? T deserves the same love Manning get and the last time I checked T Martin was a winner. Hell he won a National Championship for Gods sake. Peyton didn't even deliver a championship. T deserved a interview just as much as Pruitt in my opinion

Im just gonna call it like it is. T Martin is a black man and Tennessee will never hire a black coach. They interviewed the Black D coordinator before T Martin. They didn't have no intentions of hire neither coaches. He didn't get a interview that's the sad part. As a black man these type of things we are always up against. Its sad that no top tier team called him for a interview. How and the hell any team give butch a shot as a head coach, but u know what he will get another shot and he will get a call before T- Martin. Smh Keep ur head up T Martin u will get ur opportunity. If not go HBCU schools and build ur resume there

Did you forget 1997? We were the SEC champions, and played Nebraska in the bowl and Nebraska ended up sharing the NC. Peyton also had a bursal (not sure of spelling) sac in his knee that became infected over the bowl practice because some doctor tried to drain it and then Peyton had to have surgery to remove the sac. He missed quite a bit of the bowl practice because of this doctor. Peyton also was quite successful in the NFL and is a proud spot for Tennessee fans.
