Thank you! He was physically and cognitively disabled so the most difficult thing is after nearly 19 years of caregiving it just stopped. I still feel like I need to care for him, even though I know he’s in God’s care. He was such a good boy and a blessing to us. I take it a day at a time. Fortunate to have lots of support from family and friends. Some days God has to carry me, to tell the truth. Volnation has been a huge blessing, just giving me something totally different to think about and a new community of people to get to know and share with. I appreciate you all so much!

God bless you. I'm speechless. Although I don't know you and didn't know your son, I truly believe that folks like you and your son are what makes the world a better place.

Get out of here with that crap. It's Wawa or bust.

Sorry man. Did a lot of work up north. There were Sheetz all over. So when I wasn’t in a restaurant or on the road, we always grabbed lunch at a Sheetz. Milkshakes, subs, wings... for a gas station, you would be surprised! Haha

That's awesome! I loved that story you told about the Arkansas game and how you wrote PF and thanked him and he wrote you back and you still have the letter. Now we have finally broken the Fulmer curse of how he was treated unfairly by Haslam/Hamilton/Currie by hiring him as our Ad and right this football ship. And now you found this treasure. Oh Gruden is coming. I don't need an insider or someone who speculates cause a plane is headed somewhere. I just know it in my heart. Can't explain it. See my wife was diagnosed with Grade 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme brain cancer. She had brain surgery in August. They could only get 60% because it was too deep. She is the absolute love of my life and this beautiful Knoxville girl love UT football as much as anyone on here. She has never been to a game. I hope to take her to one next year. I prayed to the good Lord above that Gruden would come and return us to glory. GRUDEN TO THE HILL 💯

You all will be in my Prayers BOF. God Bless you! Gruden soon!

No, we figured it out. Les eats grass and Gruden is bigfoot so we're getting the Swamp Thing!

Adrienne Barbeau as recruiting coordinator.

I've been hopping around the forum and I am wondering what coach or coaches would truly unite or at least satisfy the majority of the fanbase?

Gruden, Kiffin, Petersen, Patterson, Leach, are there any other names?

I like you O&W, but Kiffin does not unite nor satisfy the majority of the fan base. Kiffin would be like that cheating girlfriend you took back. She may be the best looking girl at the party, but you always wonder...

I'll toss two other names that would never come and that would be Gundy and Shaw.

God bless you too. I always like to read what you post. Was it you that’s a guitarist? Sometimes it runs together but I remember you as being very knowledgeable about them?

Thank you. I do play guitar, have for over 30 years now. Just for fun though.

I am not as speechless as I was when I read your last reply, so I will say this: You are an amazing parent! I have no doubt your sons are together and you will see them again! What a lucky kid he was to have a parent like you, still feeling you are supposed to be taking care of him...just amazing.

Whenever I feel like posting some snarky nonsense to someone on VN, I am going to remember your story and that we are all real people on here.

Another wonderful reason to have Gruden on the hill.
Prayers, blessings and warmest thoughts to you and yours.

God bless you too! I appreciate you and your kindness. I have plenty of room for improvement, but my son made me a far better person than I was before him. He forced a lot of the selfishness and pettiness out of me. I put him first out of necessity and through that he taught me to put others first more. Our daughter is a few years older than him (she’s getting married next year), and because of him she has a HUGE heart for anyone who is different, marginalized, bullied, etc.

Sorry.., didn’t mean to go on and on!

My son who passed away a few months ago was born that Fall. I dragged a box out of storage that had baby clothes of his saved because I’m having a quilt made of some of his clothes as a keepsake. Anyway, I totally forgot I saved those all those years ago so they’ve been stored away closed up all these years.

I think it’s a Grude sign that says SOON! Don’t you? :)

volundeer, My thoughts and prayers are with you, sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what that would be like but you seem to have been blessed with the proper mindfulness for the loss. God Bless.

VolinExile or Hawk,

Just got caught up after taking a couple of hrs. off.

Something that bugs me about the pic of Gruden @ Ruby's: what would verify that the pic was tonight? Was it a time stamp? That could be faked. About the only thing I could think of is that he was with someone you would recognize that would not have been dining there with him previously--like a potential assistant coach (someone not currently associated with UT). Am I off base?

Something wrong with me.gif

You know he is! His twin brother died at birth so I like to think of them being together after all these years. Makes me happy to think of that. Thank you for your kind words. Also I appreciate the info you’ve brought to the thread! :)

No doubt they are, not a doubt in my mind.
