Why not gain leverage with Florida offer

Didn't the article say he just told his AD about Tennessee on Monday and then met with him?

Unless I'm misunderstanding, he didn't need leverage when UF offered, the AD had not "disappointed" him yet.

Do I have the timeline wrong?

Dang, after that I don't know if I want him now, lol.

Absolutely loved that. Went conservative and lost games, lol. Recruiting in the #30's.

Simple answer - Stillwater. As much or more remote than Starkville. In a worse conference. In a less populous region and state.

Talk about unreasonable. We are wooses compared to that.

Key point discussed between the rants - problems between him and the administration.

A couple of boosters are saying Gundy has accepted the Ut offer. Keep in mind these same boosters a couple weeks ago were saying Mullen was Curries first choice. Not sure whats going in that ad anymore. crazy stuff

This would be great if true. I could ride with Gundy.

If he accepted the offer today and signed but still wanted to wait a day to make it public then I have no problem.

If he really walked away without deciding or giving Currie an answer then IMO it rarely comes back as a yes.

Man, Brandon Tierney of CBS Sports is salty. Said earlier he hopes for "nothing but the worst for Tennessee" over how we did Schiano.

He just CRUSHED UT on his little CBS sports piece on the commercial break on 104.5. It was beyond ignorant.

Morris would do great here. He did at Clemson, he is just at a terrible school but has rebuilt them. They will probably win 10 games next year with what they have coming back. They were 1-11 the year before he got there and averaged like 10 points a game. They gave up well over 30.

I want it to be Gundy, but Morris would be the best offensive coach from the start in the SEC.

That's where I am on it. I think he's already signed. Just tying up loose ends before its public.

Is Morris his own OC?

They don't want Tee.

They very likely won't get Gundy.

Taggart looks to be staying in Oregon.

Sumlim doesn't want to stay in SEC.

Fisher is going to AM.

Brohms rumored to be happy where he is. (Most likely candidate though imo money)

Pruitt to Miss state.

Campbell is staying in Iowa State.

Frost will end up at Nebraska.

Cutcliffe said no.

Sooo... now what?

U change your mind about wanting Tee and hire the UT legend that wants to be here. A Martin hire will be loved by most fans and all former Vols. Plus, he would kill recruiting. Tee would be a step up from Butch in recruiting and couldn't coach 'em up, any less than Butch did. Talent would make up for some of the first time head coaching mistakes.

But, I still prefer Gundy. I really, really hope we get Mike Gundy. I want him introduced at the Mercer game tomorrow night, while I'm there. Btw, some of u guys need to check out Barnes' basketball team. This team is well coached and plays hard. NCAA Tourey team, imo

You guys are depressing. Sounded fine to me.

Gundy.

You are optimistic to the point of delusion..and you should be depressed like any rational Vol fan should be.

Our admin is doing too little too late. They shot our wad at Schiano, and now we are waaaay behind, and getting played by freakin Gundy again, and it's not even for a raise this time, just so he can some remodeling around his faculties done..What I don't get is why didn't he use Florida this time? He could have done this to them, left us alone, and already got his wish list approved. It is really about to piss me off. I'm already in a half cocked mood, and I'm not the only one.

"After meeting with Currie on Tuesday at lunch, Gundy left to go a recruiting trip for Oklahoma State, per sources, before returning home to Stillwater to mull over the Tennessee job with his family."

Hubbs had to be dying to pull the trigger on that one.

Most likely the reason they met in DALLAS in the first place. He was there to visit a recruit. Just dump em Tuberville style?
