The moral of that story is he backed out on Bama bc he was promised that stuff by WVU. Once they didn't deliver, he bolted. They'd take him back in a heartbeat up here!!

Yes, but Gundy's AD has basically already told him he's not going to provide all the things he wants and which UT already has.

Oh, and to hell with WVU for promising him that stuff and keeping him from going to Bama and Saban in the NFL.

Yeah, thats pretty much how I took it.Used again, just not for money this time.

I saw it differently. Saw it as sympathetic play by the local writers. Also saw it as UT has everything he could want right now. No way he turns down 8 million because the start some projects

I work for a search firm, granted in Healthcare, but we deal with people making career decisions like this all the time.

By the time there is the face to face visit - you need to be ready to accept an offer.

The fact that he wasn't, and wants to take a day to think about it, is a MAJOR read flag.

If he was seriously considering - the discussions with family would have already happened.

Anytime someone needs 24 additional hours after a face to face visit - your chances fall to less than 5%.

Don't mean to be negative here, but I wouldn't get your hopes up on this.

Great insight into the healthcare world. However, this is nothing similar. Key phrase is "By the time there is a face to face visit". In your scenario, there is a lot of build up to that situation, maybe weeks or months. In this scenario, it literally all happened within 24 hrs.

Gundy may say no, but I don't think we're being played. I did until I read about Florida. If all Gundy wanted was more leverage over his AD, it would have been just as easy to get by flirting with UF.

He's genuinely interested. I just have a hard time seeing him leaving his alma mater.

We are fixing to invest 340 million dollars into our stadium. Facilities are second to none. Play in the best conference in CFB. The state is producing more D1 talent than ever before. This shouldn’t be this hard.

Just did a little lurking on an OSU message board. Most of them think he'll probably leave and don't think OSU will or can compete with the money Tennessee is supposedly throwing at him. They're really hoping he doesn't leave though.

Basically what I was getting at. Hopefully, Gundy thinks they are fos, and jumps ship with our offer.
And I concur full heartedly with the last part!!😬
