wow..."it's ok,but we need to move" sounds like something ive heard a cheating husband tell his wife during sessions...complacency is not ok...neither is saying "everyone lied to us..our university trolled us, but it's ok..move on"

Guess you haven’t read any of my posts today. Move on to ousting Haslams needs to be the focus now, not Gruden.

I just would like take my hat off to PV. He’s obviously working hard and pulling the right strings. I think the last 24hrs is proof of that. First, starting yesterday morning before anyone else even mentioned Cutcliffe, he was very open about how he wanted Cutcliffe (proof: late last night we find out Cutcliffe had been offered). Second, midday yesterday he said that things were getting heated (proof: the fact just after that Bev and B. Haslam come out and tried to cover the butts). Third, he says money isn’t going to help, the only way things are going to change is if the fan base continues to voice their opinions (proof: same as my next point). Fourth, he writes last night, “we won the day! Tomorrow will be interesting!” And followed it up by saying how everything was going to change going forward and that more people were going to be involved in this search going forward (proof: the fact that the search has been reported more than ever before and we’re interviewing coaches other than Sexton’s guys ). Fifth, (which has yet to be seen) he said that the only way UT/Kiffin would even have a conversation with one another is if the fan base made it known that they wanted him and were ok with the hire. I don’t thin (proof: still waiting to be seen, even though I don’t think UT or PV wants this). He also, was the first to shoot down the possibility of Currie being fired before this hire happened. Looking like this, unfortunately, will be another thing he’s right on.

My 2 cents...

If this is what we fall uphill to get, it is a great hire. Of course I would rather have Gruden, but hiring Gundy is a coup.

That being said, we cannot allow this hire to save the job of a man who did nothing to search for a new coach and had to be forced by Volnation to go a different route. He soiled the reputation of the University of Tennessee and he no longer deserves to be associated with the school.

Why fire Currie now? HoH won, Currie is just their agent. Fire Currie and do what? Let Haslam ram another AD down our throat? Keep the Schiano stink infused AD around to remind people who really runs the show.

So what about this...

There are statements on here that say Currie is gone even if he hires someone (Gundy for example). Seems strange because why would he hire someone if he knew he was going to get fired anyway, unless...

Currie was given 2 options:
1. Hire someone good and keep the buyout OR
2. Don't hire anyone, just leave and battle in court for buyout.

Thought?

Wonder if Haslam is saying "f-it, do what you want" with the coaching and AD stuff to focus on his court case? Which took a serious turn against him today.

"Truth" for you may be that you don't care about character or integrity. That your only consideration in rejecting Schiano is that he's a mediocre coach.

But you're not me. You're not any of us. You speak for one person.

Now, there are certainly at least a few others who share your viewpoint on the Schiano question. I've seen them post.

But I've also seen a lot more folks post who rejected Schiano because of his questionable integrity at the time of one of the most notorious crimes ever associated with the game of football.

So, you've said where you stand. We got it. Stop trying to tell the rest of us that we are there with you. It is simply not true for many of us.

#CharacterMatters.

Ok. Then answer me this. Would you want Greg Schiano as the Tennessee Head Coach if he wasn't tied to the PSU scandal based off his job performance?

Just playing devil's advocate here for a second.. given the current situation I completely understand Gundy seems to be the best name that has emerged in the last couple days. I know a lot of people still have a bad taste in their mouth with Kiffin but do we as a whole legitimately think Gundy could compete in the SEC better than say Kiffin who has seen the inner workings of Saban and Alabama and how they go about winning, which ultimately that's the goal right? To compete at the highest level in the conference which consistently seems to be Alabama.. Like I said I don't necessarily feel that way just was curious if anyone thought the same. I mean I like Gundy and the mullet, he's a "Man" right, come after him!

True....unless this is confirmed to be more of a Fulmer / boosters hire with Currie sitting on the sidelines. If that's the case, then we get to see him castrated and then fired.

This is what it seems like. It kills me that this little prick was an agent for a bigger prick and killed any hope of Gruden. Hopefully the Gundy stuff is true. Let Phil be the hero, paving the way for him to take over for the little prick!

Nope....I said from day 1 the hire needed to be the person most wanted by the fans. It was time to placate the fans.

That's what UGA did and it worked out pretty well.

No.

He's an asshat and his HC record sucks worse than Butch's. Why don't you get that?

Sorry but Mike Gundy doesn't fire me up at all and is a boring hire! Look at his staff and his #28 recruiting ranking is terrible! It is a step up from Dooley and Butch but can we at least get some excitement back in the program?

I don't understand why at this point anyone with any damaging info on the Haslams would not bring it forward.

You want Volnation's help give us the ******* ammunition.

Yup, do not want Gundy but 8 million is a lot to turn down. Why not offer that to Petersen? SMDH

Anyway, I’m out and back to lurker status. I’ve enjoyed hanging out with ya’ll but you can’t do anything if information doesn’t flow freely. With no ammunition to carry forward the fight the weapon becomes nothing more than a paperweight. Merry Christmas and good luck out there!!!

Gundy is an immediate fix to the problems in the football program. Best coach that has given us the time of day in the last FOUR coaching searches. Get him then worry about fixing the long term strategic issues that have been discussed ad nauseum.

I agree with you...
I also think right now the Haslams will back whomever it is to try and quite the crowd..Too much noise coming out of VOL NATION for them...
But we must keep it up no matter what....
FIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The minute Haslam releases the reigns, Currie is gone. Currie is Haslam's agent, he is still around, Haslam is still in control.

Offensively, yes, he can compete. He pushes that fast paced run and gun offense that can put a defense on it's heels.

Defensively...no way. He needs a home run hire at DC to make it work.

I don’t understand why, if Gruden had signed and had been interested, wouldn’t they go back and follow that up instead of hunting for someone else. Makes no sense to me if Currie and Haslam is not involved.

Jimmy Haslam's ass is sitting in court.

Guys.

NO HIRE while Haslam is running things through Currie.

It's not about the pros and cons of one coach. Please don't lose focus! DEMAND that no hire take place by this administration!
