Haslam is NOT "legally" Currie's boss. Curry "legally" did not have the authority to hire GS. Davenport and probably the President would have had to sign off on any Contract to hire GS. If I am right about the above, more than just Currie need to GTFO of Knoxville.

We need some TN roots back in our State University!

I posted a suggested letter for Dudley. Here it is, feel free to copy/paste and change as necessary.

"Dear Chancellor Davenport,

I am writing you today to voice my extreme displeasure with the actions of leadership at the University of Tennessee yesterday. Specifically, the actions of Athletic Director John Currie in pursuing an unvetted and reckless agenda to hire an individual with serious questions as to his fitness to represent our University as its head football coach.

I wish to inform you that I can no longer support the University that I love through my actions or my financial contributions, so long as John Currie is employed as Athletic Director. I will reconsider this decision at such time as he is no longer employed by the University.

Yours sincerely,"

Modify to fit your level of commitment.

Davenport is every bit as much, if not more, to blame as Currie. She has to go!

Is there a way we can organize quickly in person to let our voices be heard? I'm not good enough with social media connections, but if we can set up a checker neyland movement that 100,000 people can execute, than surely we can organize a presence on campus to continue pushing for the removal of Currie and anyone else upstream if need be?

This is what pisses me off most. There's NO PROOF that Schiano was our last viable option. In fact, it seems there were more than a few candidates on the board still that the boosters had agreed to in theory.

Currie's decision came out of nowhere, and could have potentially tanked the whole program into hiring another unproven coach AGAIN.

Someone said he was already in talks with Schiano before Butch was fired. Apparently some other coaches at OSU were under the impression that he might leave for Tennessee pretty early in the season.

“Hypothetically”, if you were trying to save your job what would you do, in this situation?

Answer: You would try to make a hire as quickly as possible before the opportunity was taken away from you, in hopes that it would somehow reestablish trust within the University and fan base.

That’s why time is of the essence for not only VolNation to voice their opinions but Currie to try and salvage his job.

Well, that isn’t going to happen. Especially if he trots out Mike Bobo. I won’t forget, Currie.

No, don't. Screw ESPN we have been the running joke of the day on all avenues. Will never watch anything on there or SEC network again. I'm an old school mountain justice type and holder of grudges, they is dead to me.

I loled about mountain justice type...live in the mts of eat tennessee near flag pond...look it up if you don't know lol

This needs repeating.

Is this true? That Peyton and Majors wanted Schiano? I find it hard to believe they would approve of that hire. We are being ridiculed in the media for not accepting as our HC a man associated with the Sandusky scandal, but would we not have been ripped for hiring him worse? The University can’t afford to have that association connected to the institution. Surely Peyton and Coach Majors could see that? We need a good football coach, sure, but we also need someone of good character to go in to these recruits homes and reassure their parents and then be a positive influence in these young men’s lives. Perhaps Schiano could have done that but it seems highly doubtful that the questions wouldn’t always linger causing doubt and concern.

Social media is the best way. Tag anyone and have them retweet and in an hour whatever message you are trying to convey is heard by many. The use of hashtags and keywords are also a major tool for us.

Everyone who doesn’t have a Twitter should create one and get in on the movement.

Watch MNF tonight...

Gruden will not say anything, he didn't last time either. Anything from Gruden will come from his agent Lamonte. In 2012, Lamonte issued a strongly worded letter saying Gruden wasn't interested.

I still find it interesting Lamonte has not issued any sort of statement to this point.

We’d look like total chumps for taking on coaches like Kiffin or Petrino after our grandstanding about Schiano.

You can't seriously be comparing indiscretions between consenting adults to looking the other way during the endangerment of a child. Possibly the dumbest thing written on the internet today

Multiple people saying Peyton signed off and worked with Currie on getting Schiano, including Swain. I used to love Peyton, but he is dead to me. Sold us out to kiss the Haslam ring.

Well in that case can we blow up his email, twitter feed until he says it won't happen? It's time to put pressure on these people playing games all the time.

Id like to send an email but I'm not good with words
I'm asking Gary for forgiveness but I removed the bold and sent it away via 2 of my email accounts. I used Squints(Sp?) letter earlier from 2 other business email accounts I got. I have called 3 times now and the afternoon is still young. I am full of piss and vinegar right now and ain't giving up !

I’m an alum who lives in Dayton. Mam, you were at UC I understand. I thought that might be a good thing when I read about you in the Torchbearer. But, as Mr. Lee Corso says, not so fast my friend.

The mere fact that you can allow, in your position as Chancellor, John Currie as Athletics Director, to continue to degrade our beloved football program and esteemed University is beyond irresponsible. He needs to be fired immediately, if not sooner. The mighty University of Tennessee can do without your reprehensible lack of leadership. In fact, you too should resign immediately, if not sooner. I will not send another cent to my alma mater until the “House of Haslam”, which includes you and Currie, is completely removed. The stain you and John Currie have put on the Hill will be hard to remove. But the stench has to go, and it has to go now!

Thank you, and good day Mam.

Haslam and Davenport will throw Currie under the bus to save themselves.

If the actually think this is going to work they are dumber than anyone could have ever guessed. These people need to be run out town.

Boycott Pilot, unfortunate that innocent people who work for the company will be harmed by doing it, but the haslam's need to be moved to Cleveland and then Cleveland can run them out on their own time.

This whole situation is driving me nuts. I had a Kentucky fan (you know him SFD) come to my facebook page and start trolling yesterday. Rubbing it in and saying that there are 6 or 7 better jobs in the SEC than at UT. With our great tradition and facilities, It's getting rough to keep defending our great University if our leadership keeps making these bone headed decisions.

If Gruden wears an orange tie tonight I'll throw a brick through my TV.

ALL DAMN DAY, Les Miles, while not very sexy, would be a monster hire at this moment in UT history.

Would absolutely be a great hire. Man knows how to win in the SEC and is a great recruiter. Also could put together a great SEC staff. Is an absolute no brainer.
