Since Davenport has spoken and supported Currie then you know the search is still on and almost over.

There are still solid options available whether it be Kiffin,Martin,Frost,Cutcliffe,or whoever.

I suspect this coaching search is in its final hours.

He did that, and knew the levers to pull to make it happen. He lied a bit in the process, it's a thing.

But if it's anything like what AV has said, who I think we all believe is a bigwig in this whole thing, the Schiano decision was made without any other boosters. I now believe Beaver is connected in some way to the whole thing. If even AV didn't know until someone called him while Currie was in Ohio, Beaver's tweets saying "this is an absolute joke" were probably what he actually thought at the time.

His tone has changed from downright comical and cocky to what I'd expect from someone who is trying their best to enact damage control and who is perplexed as anyone that his and his benefactors plans had been subverted. He sounds WAY more human.

I'm not a naive person, and I've always been skeptical of the things Beaver has said, check my record, but at this point it does sound like the whole booster community was completely betrayed by Haslam and Currie.

And if that's truly the case then I'm very very worried about how bad things have gotten.

Maybe I'm wrong, we'll never know, and I'll eat my crow, but this all just shows how much of a cluster the whole administration is with the Haslams still pulling strings.

I want Gruden. But, if Gruden won't take the job, what about Malzahn? He has to be pissed at AU because they were on the verge of firing him. Had he gone 8-4 this season, he was gone and he knows it. He has proven he can beat Bama. He is the best option outside of Gruden. Pay him the Gruden deal and I think we could get him, once the cancer is removed.

Some folks have an agenda, some either hate us and are looking for an excuse to admonish the fan base for doing the right thing or they are looking to generate clicks by jumping on a controversy.

“Hypothetically”, if you were trying to save your job what would you do, in this situation?

Answer: You would try to make a hire as quickly as possible before the opportunity was taken away from you, in hopes that it would somehow reestablish trust within the University and fan base.

That’s why time is of the essence for not only VolNation to voice their opinions but Currie to try and salvage his job.

I find it highly hypocritical that those on ESPN, especially Herbstreit, are condemning the UT fans for not wanting Schiano when they excoriated Art Briles. Their contempt for UT fans in this is born out of a feeling of superiority over Southerners, elitism.

If Currie makes this hire, the UT fan base will not support it.

Jim Haslam walked Currie into the Board meeting and said Currie was the new Athletic Director and Anderson said no and walked out the door and slammed the door behind him.

Haslam has been strong arming our University to fit his agenda. He has got to GO now along with Currie! I urge everyone to not give up until he and Currie are dismantled from their positions

Knuck, I've written the President and Chancellor of UT, I've called their offices, and I've signed petitions. I don't know what else to do. We were betrayed by John Currie and the Chancellor, and I think we've been continually betrayed by the Haslams. How much longer can this go on? I'm on the verge of taking my diplomas to the Torchbearer, publicly burning them, and disavowing the University. Do you think there is any chance to right this ship at this point?

I don't either....but more than Gruden I want to feel good about the program, AD, and University again.

I loved Johnny Majors, even through the lean years. He was ours. I could live with that.

The only way Currie salvages his job is if he hires Gruden or Petersen. Then he can mic drop and smirk until his face falls off.

One thing we will never know for sure, Did Tennessee actually offer Gruden? Even Gruden said he hasn’t been contacted.
