And Morris might go to Clemson when Dabo goes to Bama.

Brohm has been much more impressive as head coach than Morris

The only thing I'm hesitant on with Brohm is it's only 1 year at Purdue. Did he catch lightening in a bottle this year and the kids played out of their minds? If he had maybe 3 years of consistent success or growth then I would be all for it. Just one year doesn't say much.

I would rather have Morris over Brohm. He has coached a NC team. Also, Brohm might jump to Louisville when Petrino leaves. Morris won't be getting the TAMU job anytime soon.

Not leaving UT for Louisville just because he played there. Not if he restores UT back to relevance.

i think brohm or Tee would be a breathe of fresh air around here. Other coaches would want to work with them and kids like them. Thats already an improvement over what we had. Kids instantly felt lied to when they got on campus with butch jones. Schiano was the same type.

Hank,

With names like Schiano and Pruitt, it sounds to me one of the goals of the search is to find someone to make the team much tougher. Or is that simply coincidental?

That’s what I’m thinking as well but a guy like Brohm or Venables would toughen up the team without being an a-hole to everybody they come into contact with.

Honest question: What exactly about Brohm is exciting? Don't get me wrong. I'd take him in a heartbeat over Schiano and/or in light of what happened yesterday, I still think it's a fine outcome, but still: What is it?

Look him up. There have been many posts about him.

Yesterday did quite a number on the fanbase. Jubilation about hiring Tee Martin?!?! I know yesterday shook most of you pretty hard. But you got to re-center quickly. Martin has interviewed for and been passed over for HC jobs at schools like GA Southern but yet we are excited about him? He it devoid of any HC experience and has not even been an OC for very long. If he did not play and win NC at UT nobody would even remotely bring his name up. Coordinator route should absolutely start with Venables. Then Aranda. Call Brohm.

Venables brohm arranda then tee if Leach said no

So Tennessee should be a program where you learn as you go? Well I guess you can sign Tee up for that--Brohm has upside at a Power 5 school. "Very little success" is more success than Purdue is had at the history of that school. We were begging for 6-6 by the end of this year.

Are you kidding me? Purdue has won Big 10 titles and had Heisman candidates. Granted, they've been down lately, and Brohm is a nice looking prospect, but have some grip with reality please.

30-10 at WKU with a 12-2 in 2015 and beat Miami in their bowl game.

Guys we might go through a few more coaches and then Tee will be ready. He'll be on like year 3 or 4 at UCF or somewhere with a winning record then we can turn to him.

I honestly think he'll have a longer leash than any other option. People will understand going in that he's very green. All he has to say in the press conference is something like, "I was tired of seeing Tennessee lose and having its name drug through the mud" and he's golden.

He’s golden until WVU drags us and then Mehlen steamrolls is in Neyland...

(Not saying those things are certainties, but very real possibilities that would immediately enrage this fan base.)

I know all about Brohm. I'm just curious what about him is exciting to those on this thread.

And again, in light of what has transpired here the last 24 hours, I'd be very pleased if he was the guy. I just think Tee or Kiffin are much clearer potential slam dunks, but the risk is higher, and our university is led by a bunch of cowards.

That's fair without a doubt.
He was really good at WKU as well though

I can’t believe Currie will keep his job. We have no leadership

Currie's future will depend on one thing, whether Haslam wants to protect him or throw him under the bus. Just as it was his call when he was hired, it's his call whether he stays. Does he throw Currie to the wolves despite it being his decision to hire Schiano in the first place?

Show me that awesome Butch resume because I can't seem to find it...

Very successful offensive coordinator and head coach at multiple stops. Conference championships. Infallible system. Brian Kelly’s right hand man. Come on dude don’t act like butchs resume before here wasn’t better than 3/4 of our actual targets.
