Tee would need to be Dabo. Not a coordinator really. Players coach and recruiter who builds a great staff.

This is true. But people talking about Dabo like he was a smashing success early on. After beating USCe as an interim, he lost 5 straight to the Cocks. How would that go over on this board for Tee?

Love Tee thats why I don’t think it is a good idea. If it goes south it will be hard to fire him.

Roll the dice with Brohm.

Former players tweeting like crazy about Tee. It’s a no brainer to unite fans and players. Naturally i’m sure they’ll try to get Pruitt or something

That was the absolute pinnacle of Gamecocks football, though.

Nobody would get players to Tennessee like Tee would.

No one would work harder for Tennessee than Tee would.

No one would unite the fanbase like Tee would.

No one would excite the current players on staff more than Tee would.

I'm not saying he should've ever been our top choice when this thing started, but we don't have our pick of coaches anymore. And as it turns out, we never really did.

Anyone know if Butch left his in-game coaching chart behind? I'm sure that would help Tee out a lot....

The one thing that we all will agree on we have to get an elite recruiter and the staff needs to be the same. It will mitigate our problems.

I mean, we just went 4-8 and nearly hired Greg Schiano. If Tee can load up on recruits and hire a great staff, 4-8 would be accepted in year one by many in the fanbase. I think people have realized we're in for another rebuild now.

Better to go 4-8 with Tee than 4-8 with Brohm.

I'll never accept 4-8 at UT and neither will the majority of the fanbase. We're going to lose a lot of players, have an iffy recruiting class and open with WVU next year, so 4-8 or worse is certainly possible. Hiring a rookie for a rebuild that gets bigger by the day is high risk. This is a much bigger job than Tee is ready for. I'd hate to burn that bridge and endure the negativity that would come with it.

Elite recruiter. Has connections deep in the south and now California. Highly thought of and liked nationally.

Could bring in a good staff from usc and sec.

Hiring a HC is something where you can almost throw the resume out. It’s more about fit and traits. Butchs resume destroys Tees.

That's a lot of assumptions concerning his staff. And that's a huge risk when his staff would be so vitally important with Tee learning on the fly. I have nothing to base it on to say Tee could put together a superstar staff. That is wishful thinking. Big time coordinators will sign up to work under a HC younger than them with no experience?

Chad Morris is interested in the job. Top notch offensive mind. Bring in a top notch DC and let's ride. Incredible what he has done at SMU. It's often overlooked when compared to Norvell, Frost, and Strong even though those are easier places to win. Almost beat Frost this year! Recruited and had McBride committed. People keep discounting him because Texas, but those jobs are wrapped up for several years.

I'd rather bring Les Miles out of moth balls than hire Tee Martin as HC now. If the guy hadn't won a National Championship as our starting QB people would think it would be a stupid move. I mean at least Jeremy Pruitt and Venables have put years as an elite coordinators at several different Power 5 schools.

I know he has a bad reputation in GA. He couldn't even get along with Mark Richt.

I know he has a rep for being a hard ass disciplinarian and I am sure that clashed with CMR and how laid back he is. I really think that's what we need as Jones let that lockeroom go. It was one reason I like Schiano. The discipline must be regained imo

Clemson has rolled through offense coordinators and haven’t missed a beat. Maybe it’s Dabo??

The players love him and would run through a wall for him and that helps. He also hires guys that are really good and there is a good mix of Bama people he knows and several Clemson guys. I think they have 4 Clemson guys on the staff.

It’s not a good idea to let the Tee buzz get too high. It’s obvious that UT fans will be happy. If we hire someone random out of left field again it’ll be awful- again. Need to squash it now if it isn’t him.
