How united are the VFLs and fanbase if he struggles? Could see it becoming a very ugly situation.

I honestly think he'll have a longer leash than any other option. People will understand going in that he's very green. All he has to say in the press conference is something like, "I was tired of seeing Tennessee lose and having its name drug through the mud" and he's golden.

Are fans here forgetting that are most successful coach ever was a former player with no head-coaching experience who was the offensive coordinator?

If Brohm has pulled out a couple of more of those close losses this year....and they were all close....he would probably be Big Ten coach of the year.

Purdue had won 3 Big Ten games the last four year and won 4 this year.

Honest question: What exactly about Brohm is exciting? Don't get me wrong. I'd take him in a heartbeat over Schiano and/or in light of what happened yesterday, I still think it's a fine outcome, but still: What is it?

Has won everywhere he's been at

Brings a toughness.

Offensive mind.

Young full of energy and knows the south.

Purdue was 8- 40 the four years before he got there.

I'm great with Brohm too.

I think will be our coach at some point during his career if not now.

Would be interested to see that DC hire with Brohm.

Which is why i think you bring in Tee. Recruiting connections, unified fanbase/VFLs, well liked to bring good staff with him. It’s a no braine r

I wouldn’t say it’s a no-brainer. It is super high-risk. Former players probably love it, and it would give us a good excuse to bring out the old ‘98 highlight tape, but as you can see from this discussion, it hardly unifies the fan base. I do think everyone would be behind him if he was the guy, though.

I would rather have Morris over Brohm. He has coached a NC team. Also, Brohm might jump to Louisville when Petrino leaves. Morris won't be getting the TAMU job anytime soon.

recruits love the guy too.

Hopefully now we realize we’re a .500 team the last decade+ and actually give him time to prove us right or wrong.

Yeah right. That ain't happenen'. They will call for his head quickly. They will say man hiring him was a gamble and it looks like it didn't work out. Move on before he makes it worse. You know that's true.

And Morris might go to Clemson when Dabo goes to Bama.

Brohm has been much more impressive as head coach than Morris

His system is a big part of it, yes. The other big part is the elite talent that is on that team. Dabo is an elite recruiter but don't pretend he's some offensive genius, man.

Talk to any Clemson people they know that Dabos finger prints are all over that offense. Especially considering it’s evenbetter since Morris has been gone.

Yep. This is what Tennessee needs.

I'd go interim if we can't get a guy we want under reasonable terms. Not ideal... but not doing that in 2010 is the snowball that started this avalanche.

Where do you go for an intern? Gillespie is the only one on staff that I would want around the program. Put Fulmer in there as an intern maybe? What do you do about assistants? I guess you could hang on to Rock for S&C. It's a crap fest. Currie needs to be gone yesterday. I would put Terry Pedigo in there over Currie.

So Tennessee should be a program where you learn as you go? Well I guess you can sign Tee up for that--Brohm has upside at a Power 5 school. "Very little success" is more success than Purdue is had at the history of that school. We were begging for 6-6 by the end of this year.

I 100% disagree. The idea is that it will rally the other boosters to get the nerve to stand up against them. To stop letting them walk all over the university unchecked. Yesterday showed me what this fan base is capable of when we make our voices heard.

Sure the national media is butthurt that we stopped Schiano from coming here but can you imagine how miserable we would all be if Schiano was officially the head coach. I was sick to my stomach yesterday at the thought. This is a battle we can win. We outnumber them and at the end of the day they are beholden to the all mighty dollar. The fans are the biggest booster. Not the Haslams. The one time we finally stood up against them we beat them. Who’s to say we can’t do it again?

I totally agree. Auburn eventually got rid of Bobby Lauder ( I think that's his name ). He was killing Auburn football and had tons of influence and power. It could be done if we unite as we did yesterday.
