The only thing that would keep Brohm from this job is the UT admin. There are big money booster issues everywhere. As already posted by others, clear the decks internally and announce Fulmer/Blackburn teaming up to deliver a real athletic department. Majors and his lingering supporters can take a hike.

It is a prize of a job waiting on the right guy to seize the moment and be embraced by a loyal, starved fan base. They all know our rules as a fan base now. Handle your personal business and relationships well, recruit and develop well, win football games. For the right guy that is a dream job.

I don't see the Blackburn or Fulmer things happening. Haslams are still running the show. Other big boosters are content to sit around and watch the football program burn while they spend their weekends jet setting and shrugging their shoulders when they check UT football scores.

We are going to have to hope that the Haslams and Currie accidentally make a solid hire.

That Atlanta Vol post said as much. The other boosters are about to revolt against these idiots

There isn't enough money out there to match them. That's why the Ergen stuff sounded so appealing. He's the only booster to rival their money. Allan Jones is probably third and he's worth a fraction of what they have.

Plus, who is going to stand up to them? The deck is stacked against anyone who is anti-Haslam. It's not the 80s or 90s anymore. Their tentacles are embedded in every aspect of UT.

You are a real drag to argue with. My point is SIMPLE.

#voltwitter is not going to force the Haslams from their perch.

Easy enough for you to understand that?

What you said completely ignored the fact that just half a day ago an entire fanbase let their voices be heard via social media and won a battle against some very powerful people. You want to ignore the fact that that's THE FIRST TIME that has ever happened, be my guest, but don't b!tch and moan when someone throws it back at you.

And for the record, I agree with you. The Haslam's don't GAF about what we fans think, they're still going to flex their power and influence over this hire.

Now, go find someone else to b!tch to.

TAMU bout to hire Jimbo a day after they fired Sumlin. Lol.....it's like our athletic department doesn't even ****ing care anymore.

Haslam isn't going anywhere. No matter what other donors do or don't do, no matter what fans say or do. He has his hands in just about EVERYTHING, in regards to UT.

Please no on Pruitt. I was initially against Tee as HC but could totally see him in a Dabo role. Recruit his tail off and let great OC/DC run the show

i dont think jeff brohm is marginal. Hes very good.

Not good enough for big money or a backend parachute. Reasonable base with performance-based incentives and a low reciprocal buyout-- sure. Will he take that in this environment? Unlikely.

IDT we should pay a hefty premium to any coach way down our list because of our current situation. The situation will pass; a bad deal will be around much longer.

What can be done to remove the Haslam influence from any further decision-making in the UT Athletic Department?

Hard to say, especially with their deep influence and fact Bill is purportedly a candidate to become the school’s president in the future, too.

More Atlanta.

Schiano was never plan B as I alluded to earlier...even sadder part is I found out about it from one of Urbans very close associates literally as it was going down Sunday afternoon with a text “did you know you are closing in on Schiano? Your crew is up here now are you aware?”

Ill elaborate more once I have time to put the rest of the puzzle together and the timing around it but rest assured this guy was never even on most of our radar until the very last second....which is clearly what Currie wanted.

I am headed to knoxville now...then off to an another location to discuss what measures will help force change. We must demand accountability....pure and simple.

We have to hire somebody. And that somebody is going to want a big buyout unless that somebody doesn’t currently have a job or good job prospects (e.g. Fulmer, Hoke).

Haslams aren't going anywhere. They are going to have a hand in every hire. We're just going to have to hope their incompetence turns into accidental competence every once in a while.

Looks like Jimbo is indeed heading to A&M. That opens up FSU and I bet Taggart will make a play for it.

Has it been confirmed that we backed out and not that Schiano backed out? Currie's statement reads almost like Schiano backed out.
