Imo Currie had his list in place before the Bahamas trip and it was Dan Mullen and then Schiano. His mistake was underestimating the fans response to the Sandusky thing and I did the same. I am betting he's innocent and never thought it would be this bad. Currie got blind sided when Kelly wasn't hired at Florida and here we are.

With all that said Currie must go even though I don't blame him. It is what it is.

I’m not claiming anything.

But that Bahamas trip was a stupid move unless you have a homerun hire already done. People tried to make excuses but it looks awful now. It will stick with him forever and would have even with him making an average hire.

I know he's the Haslam's puppet, but at some point you have to grow a set and tell them no, this he is a bad hire just like Banner did, regardless of the consequences. He already knew how they were after his years in the AD. Apparently he is just like them - tone deaf and controlling.

You don't sacrifice your professional career for anybody. But he did. That tells me he is indeed, clueless.

It looks bad but I don't think it mattered one bit. He thought he had Mullen

There is no way in he'll John Currie should be allowed to make this hire. The man is way over his head. He's an arrogant ass that's more concerned that the fans might track a flight than he is with hiring a coach. The man has failed miserably with at the main function of his job. He needs to leave.

But he didn’t did he? So it was a dumbass move made by a dumbass athletic director.

Hope he enjoyed the beach. Gonna have some extra vacation time soon so he can go back.

Unfortunately if Peyton was on board maybe schiano was the best available on the apparent list of **** Currie asked his opinion on. Hard time believing this but, kinda changes my opinion of him as well.... Was fulmer on board

Damn it's bad. Have heard heads will roll.

You gotta get Cambells buyout and hire than man, or go rite down the road and get Norvell.

I sure hope this fiasco doesn't make good coaches turn away. I want them to see it as we have integrity and pride in our program.

Dead serious? We have a coach to hire too. The environment is so damn toxic with us right now. Fulmer for Interim for 1 season.

He can take Peyton with him as well if that info you posted is true. That pains me just to type that. No one should have been ok with this.

Like him or not we all need to give a round of applause to Basilio for going live over the airwaves and pleading vol fans to torpedo this deal.

Basilio was crying on air for his alma mater.

I don't think anyone could have imagined things would have gotten this bad 15-20 years ago. I mean it's unreal.
