Ok guys.. got the load taken to Florida on around the second.. It ended up being $5400 worth and some change.
Got it delivered and had a front caliper lock up on the truck so I spent a couple days fixing that and changing the glow plugs. Starts much better in cold weather.
Spent a week with the family and got back on the 14th.
Worked a couple days cleaning up. I should have had it done in 4 days but I got injured.
Had a 6x6 oak beam fall on my back knocking me to the concrete floor.
I cut a wall loose to push over and the beam broke loose when it shifted. Was no way to see it coming. Even as careful as I am sometimes crap just happens. I was moving like a snail for about 5 days. I had to finish getting it cleaned up, which I did today.
I have about another 600 board feet out of this one during cleanup.
So my total from this building will be about $11,000.
Time wise it sucked. I spent over a week working on my new trailer. Spent another 9 days on vehicle maintenance. Took maybe a week total off. I had 22 working days in the building, denailng the wood and taking it to my buyers.
The rest was spent on other things.
My back is better and I have 1 barn left on this farm and it's a dandy. Ill post pics tomorrow when I start.
It's grown to the point that I'm going to have to hire some help to keep up with demand for my barnwood. It's getting hard to do.
Everyone loves the job I do and 1 customer even raised his prices because of the quality I'm bringing him.
I'll finish this job alone and hopefully it goes faster because I shouldn't have any more distractions like a trailer to build and truck is in good shape now.
Now it's time to get to slinging some wood.
