Things built, torn down and other projects.(Pictures)

The real day 1 started with removing the tin and getting the lathing and 2x6 roof rafters out. This tin was a pain in the rear to remove. The lathing is oak and they used regular nails to nail it down with. Makes them hard to get out.

Got both top rows of tin pulled, the lathing removed and the first row of 2x6 removed, which was basically both sides of the peak. Much easier to do it this way than on a ladder from below.

Today I removed thr last 3 rows of tin from 1 side and for all of the middle section of 2x6 and lathing removed. Only have the lower section of rafters and lathing left on this side and then will start on the other.

Got a lot done for 1 man today and I'm pleased with the progress so far.

It looks like a lot of good salvage there.

This one is loaded too. Probably another $10,000 building. Hopefully I can get it down a lot faster.

It's weak on 1x material but loaded with 2x6, 2x8, and 8x6 beams. There are probably close to 1000 board feet of beams alone, if not more. I tend to estimate conservatively.

I know 1 thing, I gotta get some good help if I'm gonna grow this any further. I'm barely keeping up and may fall behind my orders if I dont.

It would have been impossible to get any pics to upload after the Vandy loss and the Schiano fiasco so I waited until today.

Started the last barn on this job on Saturday. Got in about half a day.

This barn is a true barn and not a utility building like all the others, right in my wheelhouse lol.

It's about 60x60 and seems to be 98% oak with a little pine in some downstairs walls.

It's in really good shape. The only significant insect damage I see is to the pine tongue and groove flooring in the loft and a small amount in the main breezeway below.

Otherwise a nice barn. Built in the mid 60's so not a lot of local history attached to this one like the others.

Day 1 was inspecting and getting a start on removing the tin.

It's too wide and in too food of a shape to pull down so I'll have to piece this one down like the tractor repair shop.

That's a beast!

Been busy.

Finished taking off the other section of roof.

Loaded all 240 pieces of tin, sold it and off the job.

Have all the 2x6 and 1x material from the roof denailed, trimmed and sorted to the buyer they are going to.

Have the best 1x stuff pulled from the sides and ends.

Tomorrow and part of the next day I'll denail, trim, and sort all this 1x material.

Then I'll take down the 8x6 beams the frame on the ends.

Then I will be down to the bottom floor.

This job is moving along pretty well.

Picked up 5 more barns and bought 2000 board feet of oak from an individual. That will be a quick turnaround of about $2200 Just for picking it up and taking it to my buyer.

Hired a guy (So I thought) buy he keeps making excuses for why he cant work. Guess back to the drawing board in that lol.

Enjoying this cooler weather. I would rather work in the cold than 95 degree heat anyday. I can always put on more clothes but I can't get nekkid enough to cool off. Lol

Have everything removed from the upstairs except the 8x6 support beams.

Have everything denailed except for a few 2x6, 2x8, and the 1x boards from the sides. Im.gonna work on those tomorrow.

After that it's taking down the beams, taking up the floor which is worthless, and the removing the 2x8 floor joists.

There are over 100 of them. They will average about $25 apiece. Can't wait to get them out. All are oak and seem to be in really good shape.

I'm gonna strangle my daughter. Haha

I changed my email and couldn't get validated. So I had her helping me trying to get validated and I bet she changed my avitar.

We were reading through the neyland thread and she saw all the women in there and she jokingly said I should put a shirtless selfie to lure one in. Hahahaha

Little **** changed it behind my back.

I'm gonna kill her!!!

Gotta get her back for this.
