BREAKING: Sources telling me Chip Kelly and The University of Florida have officially agreed to terms. 6 years/4.5 M per year. Press Conference is set for Thursday at 11 am.

Not very reliable. No way Kelly takes that low ball offer. I think Kelly is going to UF but for much more $$$.

If that is so, it is no different than you and others think we should continue to wait.

With Currie knowing the likeliness of Butch being fired, he likely started the search process weeks ago. If Gruden is the top target, his agent was contacted for an interest level. If he is interested in the job, as suggested by the belief on this thread, his agent would have started the process of negotiations. When it comes down to it, there are not a considerable number of variables in the employment contract. Obviously, Gruden would be asking for more control than most coaches and that would have been anticipated as well as the compensation. Maybe a day to determine if the two sides are close enough to move forward, a week to finalize, and a couple of days to sign.

With this timetable starting a week or two ago, the deal should be done or rejected by now.
I'm not sure here: has anybody addressed the multiple endorsement contracts the Gruden has? Wouldn't those need to be addressed/resolved? Hooter's, Corona, Bridgestone come to mind. I'm not a lawyer, but my understanding is that in the past UT coaches do not do endorsements with anyone besides "Proud VolNetwork Sponsors" which is in the coaching contract. Sounds like a bunch of lawyers/variables there.

Good for them. Going to make it that much more sweeter for CJG to kick there ass year in and year out.

IMO. Sounds like all this has been very thoughtfully planned out for months. All bases seem pretty well covered, even Blackburn as a possibility for compliance.

Any vets on here or parents with young children who maybe don’t get a chance to go to UT games who would like to go to the LSU game this weekend? I would like to treat some folks if there is anyone out there that would meet that criteria.

No questions on Gruden front please. Sorry have not been around but things have been moving at a frantic pace and the process must be respected....and I have a duty to AD to uphold that at this point....

I have a 10 year old and 6 year old daughter that love UT. My wife and I took them to There first game which was Kentucky a few years ago. Was freezing and I had to carry the little one from the stadium to the car at the church on the hill parking lot. That was loads of fun
