Did anyone see musical chairs on espn? Discussing the Grude openly about coaching in the NFL or college. At least one guy wanted Gruden to the Hill!

Uhhh....this is big news if they weren't being sarcastic.

They were not being sarcastic. The question was TB or UT. The 2 that said no to UT BASICALLY stated the "I'll have you in trouble" line and one said we always get these rumors but they never happen. Never really said no. The other 2 said he's been there done that and the money may be more in the NFL but maybe not and he would love to see Gruden at a storied program

Anyone got a link, tweet, something about Around the Horn discussing the Gruden/TN situation and what they said? Not that I don't trust anonymous posters on Vol Nation, but let's just say I don't trust anonymous posters on Vol Nation.

Cat's a goofball. He is one to say anything, anything at all, even if it completely contradicts something he said five minutes before, if he thinks he can get a rise out of people. :)

I mean, I like him, he's a lovable goofball, but he's about as steady as a weather vane in a windstorm.

He said he wasn't kidding/trolling. When he trolls he never does that. I have been posting for years over there. Not sure where he is getting the information from but he is good friends with former D1 football players, some who play in the NFL right now. Not sure if that's relevant. He said he would reveal how he knows when all of this is over.

Don’t have a link but just watched it. Just their opinion. Not breaking news.

Any vets on here or parents with young children who maybe don’t get a chance to go to UT games who would like to go to the LSU game this weekend? I would like to treat some folks if there is anyone out there that would meet that criteria.

No questions on Gruden front please. Sorry have not been around but things have been moving at a frantic pace and the process must be respected....and I have a duty to AD to uphold that at this point....

It's on VQ

It's an intriguing scenario... I really want Gruden.. But I love the idea of crushing Florida's hopes and dreams.

Best case scenario:
- We get Gruden
- Kelly goes to UCLA
- Frost goes to Nebraska
- Mullen stays at State
- Florida ends up with Taggart

*I actually see this as a real possibility

Gruden will coach circles around Taggart and Mullen..:eek:lol:

SOON

Jon Gruden in August: “If I became a college coach I would probably have you on probation w/in 4 or 5 weeks. Too many rules, man. I mean I like to work. The recruiting … all that stuff. Yeah, I’d probably have you in real deep, deep trouble if I was your college coach”

How does one ignore a poster from mobile?

Chip at Florida would be interesting. Kind of skeert honestly. Not completely sold on his ability to catch lightning in a bottle once again though, but the potential would definitely be there.

You don't last four seasons in the NFL by catching lightning in a bottle in college. Hell, you don't amass an NCAA coaching record of 46–7 (.868) with lightning in a bottle. Kelly at FL is absolutely scary.

Unless we get Gruden, amirite?

I don't have a link but one that said no to UT compared him to Tiger Woods returning to the majors, we always hear about it but it never happens

Was told earlier today that Gruden is in, wrapped up his staff yesterday and will be in Knoxville tomorrow. Source is very close to Fulmer and Haynesworth.
I'm not an insider by no means, more of a lurker, just passing along info I trust.
Fan away

May wnat to have your source call Albert and ask him to chill.....

That's right my bad...

So coach A, wins a championship, fired, is now an analyst = bad.

Coach B, wins a championship, fired, is now an analyst = savior of UT football?

The only difference between the two when viewed from that angle is A was fired last year and B was fired ten years ago.
