Official Jon Gruden Thread 34

Dale has been pursued by many programs and has a great resume. Randy has several rings and is well respected in the coaching world. The thread for the three of them is the 86 sugar bowl.

I know your close to Dale and may not be willing to talk. I respect that. But, is your feeling we are moving closer to closure ?

Any vets on here or parents with young children who maybe don’t get a chance to go to UT games who would like to go to the LSU game this weekend? I would like to treat some folks if there is anyone out there that would meet that criteria.

No questions on Gruden front please. Sorry have not been around but things have been moving at a frantic pace and the process must be respected....and I have a duty to AD to uphold that at this point....

I have a 7 yr old.. not a vet though.

If you have any extra, I was recently laid off of work and haven't had a chance to make it out to a game this season. Would be more than appreciative of an opportunity to go and take my dad. Used to be tradition of sorts for us to go to Neyland for a game.

You and your father are taken care of.

Please email that address that is out there and reference your VN screen name so i know it is you etc.

Isn't this exactly how Beaver said it would go down as we got closer to the announcement. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, put he said the media would be in a full court press to dispell the rumors right before the announcement. My biggest concern is our S&C. THAT has to be addressed quickly . My other concern is our LBs we have to upgrade there quickly. I can see him having to go the juco route to fill the the holes on the O-line and D-line. We have got to get bigger and meaner up front.

Gruden's son is a S&C coach for the redskins I believe...

Done same as my other post. Send email of address for tickets.

Enjoy and take some good pics!

OMG I literally fell out of my chair and ran downstairs to tell my wife who promptly told me that out of town family are driving in to stay with us. As in I haven't heard a word of this until NOW.

Would have been nice to know before I opened my mouth. You're a class act sir and thank you so much...

I'm so bummed now! I hope another family gets this wonderful opportunity . Go Vols.

Man that is awesome Atlanta Vol. I wish I could take you up on it. Unfortunately I have to fly to Arizona for a friend's funeral. We deployed to Iraq together in 2006. This past Friday his PTSD beat him. There is a gofundme set up for his family if anyone is interested in helping them out.

Three ways to read Atlanta Vol's presence today.

1. He knows a Big Thing is going to happen this weekend, and is (on his own or as a representative of the AD's office) helping kids and vets to be in Knoxville and at the game during the weekend, to be a part of it (whether the announcement would be during the game or a day or two prior/after, the LSU game would always be associated with any announcement made then).

2. He is disappointed in a turn the coaching search took today, enough so that he doesn't feel like going to the LSU game, and is giving away his tickets to people who will enjoy it more than he would...even the wording of his "duty to AD to uphold at this point" could be read that he is considering leaving his relationship (whatever it is) with the AD. I know, I know, this version absolutely sucks, I hate it too, but it still fits the situation and should be considered.

3. None of the above, his arrival in VN.com today has nothing to do with the coaching search, he just has spare tickets he'd like to go to worthy folks. This is the least dramatic but most likely scenario.

Sorry to do the roller-coaster thing, just couldn't help seeing how Atlanta Vol's presence could be read a few different ways.

Sounds like a PERFECT opportunity to get out of the house and go to the game! :lolabove:

Please post the GFM, assuming it’s not against the rules. I will put the word out to friends as well.

Cat's a goofball. He is one to say anything, anything at all, even if it completely contradicts something he said five minutes before, if he thinks he can get a rise out of people. :)

I mean, I like him, he's a lovable goofball, but he's about as steady as a weather vane in a windstorm.

You're right but I have first hand info on this one JP :)

FTR I still think we get Mullen.

I know I know... GTFO

I’m no insider but every ESPN show that comes on TV has something to say about Gruden and TN. Nearly every one including Finebaum say Gruden will be contacted and/or made an offer. So if he doesn’t come it will be because he doesn’t want to and not because he wasn’t offered.
