If Gruden gets announced, watch for 9 months from that date. Could be a record number of new VOL fans born and half will be named Peyton and the other half will be named Chucky!

this just occured to me. we have three children Gretchen, Grant, and Grayce.

now, i told my wife last go around, that i wasn't going to tell her what to do, but we weren't coming home (from dr, labor, birth, ect) til one of us got fixed, for her to just let me know what she decided.

anywho, that's been about 18 years now, so i reckon the dr did a good job with the fix.

but i'm gonna start teasing her about "g' names for the next one, like .... Gruden.

It's funny the Nega Grudes come on this thread just to say he's not coming. Well ask any of them WHY?. Most have not much to say other than he has it made at MNF and he has Gruden QB Camp Oh and could coach in the NFL.

About 80% or better have no clue about whats going on at ESPN and other places in NFL. For those nay sayers I'd like to try to help you understand why he would come to UT.

1. ESPN is going broke
2. NFL is no longer watched by 1,000's cause the POS in the NFL are not greatful to the Great American Flag what it stands for and those who died for it.
3. Gruden is not having a QB Camp this year its already been waxed by ESPN due to money.
4. MNF is leaving ESPN to a diff network (Again ESPN) is going broke.
5. Cindy is from UT
6. Jon's Son goes to UT.
7 Cindy wants to move back to Tn
8. The Gruden family just bought a freaking huge house in knoxville thats not for just his son.
9 Jon said UT was his Dream Job
10. It didn't happen in 2012 cause of several reasons
10 A. Timing wasn't right
10 B. Jon had just signed a new MNF contract.
10 C. Haslam was in the way.
10 D. The money wasn't there for the Assistants.
10 E. AD at the time wouldn't give Jon the Control he wanted.
11. It's Freaking Tennessee that's why
12. This time Charlie Ergen has been working for 5 years gainnning more and more money, backing, lining up boosters, and getting ready to push the Haslams out so they stop making UT the Knoxville Browns.
13. He's Chucky.
14. He's been to the NFL already
15. The man lives and breathes UT, Hell he even has orange hair.
16 AGAIN IT"S TENNESSEE
17. TENNESSEE is the only college he would coach.
18. Unlike 2008, 2012 Gruden has not denied it one time this time and Grumors are everywhere, If he didn't want it to happen he would have already stopped the Grumors and said he didn't want the job.
19. Gruden has been in Knoxville more in the last month than he has in 5 years.
20. UTAD Plane has made several trips to Florida last couple weeks

This is all public knowledge but yet its all being kept hush hush and no one will talk about it. If I'm wrong I'm wrong I know nothing more than anyone else, but anyone can add 2 and 2
I wrote a list yesterday but yours is MUCH BETTER! Thank you for doing this as a reference for the nega-Grudes coming in here.

I just don't see any reputable program hiring Butch. ADs will look at the talent he had in '15 and '16 and how it was squandered, they'll look at how many assistant coaches who were decent enough elsewhere just didn't shine on a Butch Jones' staff, and they'll look at stories like Antone's. Who would want this guy? I hope someone does because it would save UTAD some money but I just cannot imagine who is that desperate.

Good Point^^^

When discussing the Mays decommit with Mr. SFD last night, we were wondering if Gruden might be wanting a bunch of kids to decommit. That way he gets to go pick his own instead of dealing with all the offers that have already been made.

Quite possible.
He would definitely want his own players.

If that is the case then someone behind the scenes is doing a lot of scrambling learning about this year's class of recruits.

Please, Rucker trying to sell that Jones is recruiting is beyond any form of rationale. SOON!!!!! GRUDEN TO THE HILL!

That is a substantial piece of information and I like the thought that it is an equal amount coming from four different boosters... screams unity to me....

Solidifies my thoughts ... thanks ... even if it didn't thanks :hi:

Keep in mind I said 7 figures I don’t know if it was even amounts by pledge or not. Also in that world those are not outlandish amounts. I just found it interesting given everything that is going on the money is still rolling in.

Grandma's special/sampler is my go-to at Cracker Barrel. It's not on the menu anymore, but you can still get it. It's the Old Timers breakfast minus the biscuits and gravy, instead you get pancakes. Depending on if I want B&G or pancakes I go with one of those two.

This.

Everytime. Day or night.

That was poorly worded. I keep seeing those odds posted over and over, but I wouldn't put much stock in them for several reasons.

I agree they shouldn't be taken too seriously, but I also don't think they should be completely ignored.

I base that opinion on what I've heard on ESPN radio. Fwiw.

This is the kind of Grude thinking I read this thread for. I had this thought too sort of... but just about the QB’s. If Gruden wants Lawrence and successfully flips him, we would have 3 QB commits... someone’s gotta go

The sad part is the people in charge seem to have no idea what the fans want or they just don't care. I am afraid it is the later.

Lot of folks getting tired of settling for mediocrity. It will impact the bottom line but in a gradual manner. I'M certain as several posters have stated that the attendance of 95,500 for S.Miss was inflated and a lot of tickets were also given away. Reality will set in when long-time season ticket holders don't renew. Then some will keep their tickets and not attend. Local business revenue will decline. I'm not behind the empty neyland movement because it's a bad image to project. It will happen anyway on it's own,IMO. If indeed the powers that be don't care, they'll eventually see the mistake. Sad thing is you can't regain this revenue once lost. That's why a Bama,Michigan, OSU, type hire pays for itself. They just don't factor in the potential lost revenue up front. I think another bad hire is gonna hit UT hard financially.

Morning ya'll.

SFD this is why I said a while back I'm buying everything you're selling. There's a lot of logic in that. It has been stated numerous times that Mayes was the one holding them together.

Ok guys it’s not based on Vegas neither site that had odds out was based in Vegas!! We freaking get it!! However these sites were both similar with the odds on landing Gruden, and that is due to high betting from Tennessee fans! When people say “Vegas” odds they just say that because Vegas is associated with odds makers and betting, so if we on a message board make a mistake and accidentally say Vegas odds DEAL WITH IT!! FYI 2 reputable betting sites had identical odds so it doesn’t matter if it’s freaking Vegas or not!!

Bringing the HAMMER!

I think we have to realize that the reason than Butch is not gone may be the fact that Sexton is hunting his Client a job and they have not come open yet. Im sure Florida is not going to hire Butch and if the rumors are true he might go to South Alabama I dont believe that job is open yet. I think things go quickly after the Vanderbilt game with Butch being let go and another coach hired. The mystery is who that coach is gonna be.

I have asked previously on here with no response...

I wonder what role (if any) Sexton is playing in all of this.

Whaaaa? I missed this. That's weird. My brother runs in those circles and he's why I get to play the Honors. And we practically live at the Tremont. I need to get my brother to make some calls to his "buddys" and start plying people for info! I just want some sort of confirmation that I'm not crazy for 100% believing all of this.

I have zero intent (as I am sure you don't either) to seek to uncover his identity... but it would make me a whole lot more comfortable with him to confirm one or more of his stories

I'm not convinced it's Ergen. I think it may be Anderson. But also, keep in mind that donations don't tell the whole story. Think about advertisement dollars too. Dish Network sponsors about anything and everything over there.

maybe it's ergen's masterplan, and anderson is backing it. maybe together, they've got all the other boosters on board to push/force the issue.

This makes some sense. I also think Currie is of the mindset that the season is completely lost and that they may as well let him finish out the disaster. Lowering the buyout is the reason he's still coaching. I think Currie believes whoever is hired will be able to save and maybe even improve the 18 class. So I believe Currie believes the guy he is targeting is a home run.
I sure hope so. Based on the past 10 years, I could totally see the AD playing dumb and never making any public comment. I'm torn between the hope that they really have lined up a Grudenesqe coach and are just waiting for the right time to announce and the fear that they are going to go into ostrich mode and retain Butch another season. Several people opined that there would be an announcement after Butch's next loss. It's going to take a lot for Vols to beat a hot Mizzou. Maybe we hear something Sunday or Monday?
