I did look. Some poster claims it's from Larry's email. This is weird stuff.

BS. Someone is trolling this. It has been a perpetual cycle for weeks now. And always, always, someone on this board gets suckered into Jiminy, the fake Ainge, etc. Damn, we're all hungry, but I don't have an appetite for crumbs.

No, I meant Chris Patterson. I'm on mobile and didn't proofread.

I never said Shaw or Patterson would happen, or that they should. That's why I said caliber (knew I should've quoted or explicitly explained). I would much rather put stock in a product I've seen produce at a high clip than an up and comer. Hasn't the UTAD tried "projects" before, only to have it blow up in their face? I'm sick of projects and all the BS.

I'll be the first to say, if your "project" is rolled out with a 1/2" x 1/2" Power T lapel pin and promises how UT is back, UT may spontaneously combust!!

Also, the transitive property doesn't quite work in football. I take greater solace and confidence in the law of averages (e.g. a body of work) over a single season's production, and the season is not even complete.

Here, we are in agreement. Solid post.

I just can't rule Gruden "in", and I can't rule him out. Unlike many here, I won't need to be talked off a ledge if he's not the next head coach.

Likewise, I'm not big on Kelly. He's a quitter. Petrino, too much baggage. That leaves us with the Patterson, Stoops, Shaw, Fuente, Kiffin, and pick-your-favorite club...none of whom are coming.

Miles? Hard enough as it is to get grass to grow in the shadows of Neyland.

Mullen? Maybe, but he just seems to be an average SEC coach. Not that he wouldn't likely be an improvement, but is 9-3 enough now?

No...we need our Kirby, or Meyer, or Fuente.

And that's where I think Frost and Campbell are headed. I could be wrong; been so many times before. But if we can't land the sure-fire, can't-miss, Saban won't sleep at night head coach, why not roll the dice on one of those guys?

At this point, what's three more years?

Go Vols.

I get that. But I'm talking things that can be verified outside of the person's word. Not saying I don't personally believe him, but there's no evidence beside his words.

I'm just trying to cut through the fluff and focus on verifiable facts. Hard to dispute facts.

He's done many things over the past couple of years to prove himself. Donated thousands of dollars to help a fellow Vol on here who's child needed a surgery. He's given away his tickets to veterans on here. Other things that I can't remember right now too.

This is what Skizer41 is talking about

Right. I then asked Trey if there is any truth to the rumor that Gruden countered $10mill/4years with $12mill/5 years. He hasn't replied.

Jist so you know Knoxswim I was talking about it because another user couldn't get to the boyd account that had posted in the comments.

I'm keeping an eye on Trey's twitter and will post any tweets that apply to this thread

Let's focus on the facts. I'd like to believe Atlanta Vol, Beaver, etc. but you can't know for certain they have the right version of the truth.

Facts:
  • Butch isn't recruiting, isn't retweeting, and official visits are not happening the week of homecoming. (Or until after the season?)
  • BOT approved a plan to renovate Neyland to the tune of $340 million today. Instead of 3 phases, doing it in 2. Ultimately saving $10 million, but needing more money right now up front to get started. Something like $50-70 million coming from the high rollers.
  • ?
  • Add your FACT here when you quote. None of the opinion/hearsay stuff.

Conclusions:
  • Butch is 100% done.

Bumping this up - and for clarity - facts should be verifiable without the person's word.

I'm not saying Atlanta Vol isn't at the meeting, or isn't legit, or whatever. But you don't have a photo of Atlanta Vol at the meeting, something beside his own word. The goal is to focus on what we absolutely 100% know, no matter what someone says.

It's sad how short the list is, maybe?

Maybe he took a screenshot of the post from here and took it over there attempting to pass it off as Larry's email?
I don’t know the guy.
I do know after living in this thread the past few weeks my troll detector is in overdrive.

Seemed pretty blatantly cropped so as to remove the poster's name.

Firing of Fulmer was not a mistake. He was done!

The rest is well whatever.

Kiffen would have done well here if the compliance guys could have kept the AA off our backs...

The mistake was hiring Dooley.

Should have made K Brown the interim head coach and then get back on cycle

Fulmer would have had more success than anything we have fielded since.

Kiffin may have, but at the end of the day it hurt the program.

100% agree on Kippy being interim, I think that is the damning thing against the Haslam's. Hamilton panicked and instead of doing what a smart leader should have done, which was prevent him from making such a massive mistake especially considering they knew they would be letting him go after that debacle, they supported the Dooley hire. A good, strong, and knowledgeable leader would have NEVER left Hamilton hire Dooley. Heck, Hamilton should have been fired on the spot for even suggesting it as a legitimate option

I think Butch is our interim coach. The staff was such a mess that Butch literally IS the best option. As scary as that sounds. Add to that the fact he isn’t recruiting anymore. Makes a lot of sense.

Hence why he doesn’t seem to give a sh!t what really happens. He’s going through the motions.

Whether Gruden is hired or not. Who knows. I certainly hope so.

Im just praying the Gruden deal has been worked out for weeks, and they are just waiting (for what ever reason to fire Butch), we get a renovated bad asserer Neyland Stadium, and the Grude.
SOON!
