I have no inside information. I don't know anyone in the UTAD. I have no uncles that work at Pilot or Dish. My father-in-law's mailman doesn't have a cousin who knows a guy from church blah blah blah blah blah..................

I want CJG on the sidelines at Neyland next year. A lot. I think it's at least possible. A lot of it makes perfect sense. I hope it happens.

ASSUMING the powers that be make a full court press for him, money is no object, name your price, pick your own staff with no intereference, etc. etc. and put the ball fully in his court:

If he turns us down due to not wanting to coach right now, I'd be okay.

If he turns us down to go back to the NFL, I'd be okay.

If he turns us down, and takes another college job, it would be like my first crush breaking up with me all over again.

If there really is a power struggle occurring behind this whole fiasco, it only makes sense that we’re seeing this power struggle play out before our very eyes in the form of a targeted information war. It is evident in this very thread (and others like it on other forums) and in the media. It seems fairly clear to me that folks like MIT and Bubba have been sent out by one side to fan the flames that JG can be had. It has been implied that hired professionals might even be in use for this purpose.

Perhaps the opponent didn’t expect such a direct and effective information onslaught, but once known, a response would be required. As we know, certain media members and other “insiders” are now consistently saying that the chances of landing JG are nearly zero – a calculated response from the opponent intended to extinguish the flames of information being fanned by the JG camp. It’s fully logical to expect a response, and most likely at least one reason why MIT predicted a rise in articles saying that JG would not be a good college coach.

I would think it’s useful for the targets of this information war – the average UT football fan – to be aware of what is happening. At a minimum, it should make everyone aware of the overwhelming importance of the average football fan in the outcome of this very painful process. After all, the only power that anyone is able to wield is the power given to them by others.

Just bumping this from earlier today. In my opinion, the mere fact that the available information is so diametrically opposing confirms that there is a rift in the power structure. One side is fanning the flames and the other is trying to put out the fire. The “insiders” being used for this purpose may or may not know that they are being used in this manner. A critical and all-out information war targeted directly at the most critical piece of the puzzle, the hearts and minds of the average Vol fan.

I get that UT has to be cautious with the Kendrick situation, but why can't Butch and Walt be suspended pending investigation? There seems to be a lot of risk allowing them to coach this Saturday as if nothing has happened.

WTF is going on tonight?

You got people trying to find 2 different twitter accounts, why?

What is the deal with AV’s post from here (earlier the day), showing up on TOS under Larry’s email?

are you on TOS, if you look at post #12 it states FROM LARRY'S EMAIL: and then the screen shot.

I take it as Larry received it.........who knows

I am not on TOS. Perhaps someone screenshotted it and sent to LWS, I dunno. But I'm comfortable saying that post was not typed by Larry.

Nothing to see here. Larry would not intentionally claim that post as his. I'm guessing he clipped it or someone else sent it to him.

you guys need to visit the Baseball Forum during the season, not this exciting but we have a good time.........soon

I’m not a constant follower of these threads for Gruden, simply because I do not want to get my hopes up, however my thought process is similar to this. I will say that if we have offered him 10 million a year(forgive me that may have been proven false in the other threads)at least we are trying to make him say no. That’s top 3-5 money for coaching. I think that’s on par with Saban,Dabo, and Harbaugh. Urban Meyer may even be in that ball park.

I wonder if Larry just screen shot it and put it in an email he sent out to others as part of a larger informational email?
