Possible nugget: Atlanta Vol & Beav both went inactive within min of each other and haven’t been back on. I’ve been monitoring their activity for days. One or the other is usually active around this time of day. Now both silent.

I think the KGB is taking applications

He also said it was done to the point he would be back to see those who doubted, and those who were behind it all never missed. He posted several times that there was zero chance of this falling through. I’ve doubted him from the beginning, and made myself a bad guy for daring to do such a thing.

I think it's always good to have a degree of skepticism. I am skeptical too. If I wasn't I would be at 100% instead of 50%. But I also think 100% done has different meanings to different people. I think he was convinced there was no way that UT could turn the deal down. Probably addressed all the hangups from the last go around. But, I think it's impossible to predict with 100% accuracy when there is all these moving parts. Deals like this are not easy. They require a lot of people to get on the same page, a lot of back and forth. A lot of "we can't do that but how about this?". THat's why I think there is a 50% this happens, because it's extremely difficult to put all the pieces together and all the compromises to work.

Two things give me hope:

1. Peyton Manning. I've said all along that he is the key. He's the one that can put everyone on the same page. Can he put this extremely complicated puzzle together.

2. I think this deal has been in the works for years. I think everyone knew this was a stopgap measure. I our university's finances were not where they are today and as Jon Gruden said a couple of years ago " The timing just wasn't quite right". I think the people that have been working to put this together over the last several years are not going to go quietly into the night. Too much work has been put in to make this happen. Is the timing right this time?

A couple of people are picking up on it here, but still getting somewhat buried, the Stadium Reno approval is big, IMO.

If you have committed to that kind of investment, your not going to roll out some google the name coach next year.

And the timing is starting to make a lot more sense, if they have committed to $340 million or whatever it is, Currie and other have a lot more leverage to get buyout done, and go get a big name.

Don’t get caught up in th booster infighting, follow the money.

Gruden to The Hill.

SOON!

Exactly!

If Beavers tweets are meant to influence the outcome, then why wouldnt his account be public? He only has about 250 followers and those are hand selected.

Guess I was one of the lucky ones he selected. Probably my profile picture there, I have no other info on twitter.

Been a power struggle on the hill for along time.

Must keep faith that things are changing for the better.

Everything's coming to ahead (right now) and when Butch is fired we'll "ALL" find out real quick if UT is truly re-committed back to the football program.

Should have came to ahead long ago but it's on now.

Just riding it out... over here

I agree but i'm sure it drawing a lot of attention and putting it on Currie. In the beginning he said something about making Currie mad or upsetting him i believe.

You are right, he did say that. He knew that Currie would side with Haslam since he was hired to do what he says. He might want to rethink that before committing career suicide to a man in his upper eighties.

YES! YES! I believe it was either SFD or Hawk who laid out the fact that this plan has been in the works for years, including bringing in Gruden. Totally buying what you’re selling!

Hmm. Anderson is on the Athletics committee which just committed UT to spend big $$$ on the stadium renovation. Makes it very hard to turn down increased revenue at this point. Anderson allied with Ergen? Sounds like leverage to me.

What if...

The pro-Gruden camp has made it seem like they are all-in for supporting stadium construction. Get Currie to commit, press release, meeting minutes, etc.

And at the other meeting they inform him they are out unless JG is hired?

So Haslams have to cover it all or concede?

Sounds like they would have the upper hand. After it has been announced.
Interesting

I totally understand what you’re saying. My only thing is, I’m not gonna boast about how I’m gonna come back and gloat in victory, if I’m not 100% positive what I’m saying is a done deal, isn’t a done deal. Unless, I’m just messing with people. I’m not against Gruden at all, I just haven’t bought into the Beaver.
