Official Jon Gruden Thread XXVI

Oh, not melting down. Just casually observing what all has been mentioned in the last 160+k posts and combining that with AV's last post. Just seems to go against that, unless it's misdirection.

I will say I am beginning to become a little fatigued from following this for the last month......and my work has definitely suffered. lol

Just like everyone else(except for the 41% morons down in Chattanooga) , I am simply ready for Butch to be gone and to have a new coach.

Well please ignore the morons down here in Chattanooga we hate to think we are the cause for your fall off in your job performance

I'm dead serious when I say this. If I was worth $14.6 billion, I would offer to pay Butch's full buyout, foot the entire bill for the stadium upgrades, and offer to pay Gruden 20 million a year if that's what it took. Too bad I'm not worth $14.6 billion.
That being said, everyone look to the left of this post. Sorry ladies. No eye candy for you. :)

I just saw this and my Gruden dropped to negative numbers. Things are getting tough out there...

Haslam wins always. At least throughout recent history of the program.

At least he is old and when we have our next football coach search he will be out of the picture. If Haslam prevails the athletics programs that matter are doomed for mediocrity or worse. If we dont get Gruden then they can all kiss my a$$!

Where did Stoops name come from? Did he just pull that out of thin air or is there something I missed?

He picked up on Atlanta Vol's comments and Spurrier's and it made him think. My thought is why not? Urban Meyer said he was out and we see how long that lasted.

What if...

The pro-Gruden camp has made it seem like they are all-in for supporting stadium construction. Get Currie to commit, press release, meeting minutes, etc.

And at the other meeting they inform him they are out unless JG is hired?

So Haslams have to cover it all or concede?

This hire is make or break for me as well. As an alum, I now live too far away from Knoxville to afford spending money on flights/hotel/food/beer/etc. a few times a year to watch a losing football program go through continuous cycles of mediocrity.

With Kirby Smart seeming like the real deal and UF coming out of nowhere to fire a coach with as many SEC East titles as years of head coaching experience, the East is about to be impossible for us to win with a "Good the Name" head coach.

This is it. Now is the time. If the Athletic Department continues to go down this path, I'm checking out. Not to mention the artist renderings of what the Neyland renovations look like are less than encouraging. It looks like we could be losing a massive amount of seats, with that, the pride of saying we have one of the largest and most hostile stadiums in the nation. Get this NFL style stadium nonsense out of here. This is CFB not the NFL.

The powers that be meeting isn't until tonight.

Based on that fact and the fact that Beaver is twitting what he is now says to me that the meeting tonight is the last meeting to settle this power struggle once and for all.

Almost like a loser leave town grudge match.

It appears to me that the Beaver is applying final pressure before this meeting.

Maybe I’m missing it but the Tweets come across to me like someone throwing a temper tantrum, not one versed in human behavior dynamics.

He also said it was done to the point he would be back to see those who doubted, and those who were behind it all never missed. He posted several times that there was zero chance of this falling through. I’ve doubted him from the beginning, and made myself a bad guy for daring to do such a thing.
admitting to be wrong is hard to deal with sometimes !

Diabolical. I love it.

Are we sure the Haslems are against Gruden? It doesn’t make sense. Gruden has Golfed with them, he stayed in their house when he was visiting here and now is buying their house.

Doesn’t sound like someone being a roadblock to me.

Now don’t go trying to slow down the runaway train.

There is a multi millionaire booster down here in chattanooga that trains athletes along with wealthy mountain folks. He also works for the UT Atheltic department and he’s saying that UT has reached out and wants Bobby Petrino. I didn’t believe him but he said he wasn’t a big fan of him personally but several boosters are. He doesn’t believe we can get gruden. Now he didn’t specify why that is. He led me to believe we wouldn’t pony up the money along with possibility of “major players” not willing to go all in for gruden. Based off beavers tweets it makes me believe there is some truth to this.

Now he also said something interesting about the VFL coordinators departure. He said there is strong evidence he was leaking info. I’m assuming he meant on one of the message boards. He and butch had a falling out last year but is revered by majority of players and parents. His answer was to leak info and help shift the perception of how Butch Jones handles the kids and his program (not near the nice guy we all thought he was.)

I fully believe he was telling me what he knew and believed was the truth. He has either been given false information about our hiring or UT hasn’t fired butch bc we actually DO NOT have the guy we thought we did. Yes butch is out he said to his knowledge but they want him to finish the season. The only way we’d let him go early is if we had a replacement ready to be named or close to that. He said we do not. This man is highly active in the community and I do not see any reason why he’d lie to me. Hopefully he’s wrong or Tennessee steps it up and makes a big time hire.

My thoughts as well. There are two days of these meetings with more tomorrow and another big time meeting that was described by both MIT and AV. I highly doubt the pro-gruden crowd is going to lay it all out in the first couple hours of the meetings.
