Yeah, if Gruden is 100% done why does he feel the need to to call out Currie all of the sudden. Guessing the Beav wasn't happy after today's meeting.
Been interviewing today, unable to drop in. Sounds like there was a little action. Still at work, any kind soul care to give a briefing of what went down?
Seem confirmation that this is a showdown between Haslam (the old guard) and Ergen and his 85% coalition ... That battle was fought once in 2012 and Haslam won out...
Then Atlanta Vol posted that the AD had contacted a coach (Not Gruden) to see if he had interest in Tennessee
(would not name him)...
These two things together made me lower my percentage to 40% chance we land Gruden
Can you do some sleuthing? In light of Atlanta Vol's and other posts earlier today, I've heard that Spurrier reached out to Stoops yesterday about the Florida job and that Stoops has not returned his call?
The only 3 "wow" hires I could think of were: Gruden, Stoops, or Kelly.... and Kelly as the show cause issue.
I am following you and don't disagree with any of your points.
I will say, the comment Currie made about the big time fundraising that went on to make the renovations happen is sticking with me. Wouldn't someone who knew that a large portion of the money pledged was no longer available choose different words or at least act a little more somber in his remarks?
Playing devils advocate of course. I, like you, am up in the air about what to conclude about this whole thing.
MIT has always indicated it was done on the Gruden/Booster side. He always said it was deal that no sane person would turn down. It would be almost impossible to turn down. That indicates that it could be turned down, at least to me.
