Obviously I have no clue, but I don't buy the interim theory. I can see no one wanting it, for several reasons, but under the circumstances, I don't think Currie just says "okay".

Yea that's tough for me to accept too. Maybe he is that weak but dang I hope not

The clarification I got on that was that the two obvious choices, Hoke and Shoop, hate each other with the heat of a thousand sun's. That is why I was told Stripling is now the choice if they move forward.

It's less that nobody wants it, than nobody wants the other guy to have it.

It's a circus over there right now.

I took enough accounting to know about balancing the books.

10mil from one ledger
10mil from another

Across several ledgers it adds up...

Clear enough?

Uhh... no? I'm not following how reducing a set construction cost by $10 million can be magically turned into $40-60 million by moving it across ledgers.

So, assuming Gruden is on board and that part of the deal is "done" and agreed to, is it possible that the timing was all part of a concession to JG? But the foul up in the southward trajectory of this is with the Kentucky loss and the Kendrick issue? Both of those don't happen and the coals aren't stoked nearly as hot...

Maybe he's totally on board, assembling his staff, researching recruits, and dealing with his Monday night gig. He probably lets his agent handle this. He may be oblivious to this.

UT is a land grant institution...
A state run educational system.
These things are unequivocally connected...
I assure you.

The Governors out sourcing plan gave all the schools the ability to opt out. All of the UT system schools chose to opt out. All of them did and they were all announced on the same day, including Memphis Chattanooga and Martin. I don't think they care about the UT coaching controversy.

I am not an insider by any means. I have one connection in the athletic department, from a different sport, that I talk to every few months. When I talked to that individual a few weeks ago, they stated that everyone in athletics had been walking on eggshells for weeks, Apparently Currie has been in a bad mood since before the Georgia game. I can only imagine how quiet it is in the hallways for others right now as they try to stay out of the way of the fury in the football end of things.

I can’t figure it either. To me it is clear he has given up and doesn’t want to be here. He has to be a pawn in the big game for some reason. Since the encounter between him and John I can’t even get a courtesy call back from my friends in the AD and one is a fraternity brother. My last conversation ended with “we can’t exchange text because people are posting the screenshots”. Just curious if your text have dried up as well.

There are those that believe Currie is trying to block a Gruden hire.... your opinion ??????

I believe you but good lord that sounds unbelievable lol. This is worse than a circus! I feel terrible for the players having to go through this.

At the end of the day, doesn't it come down to whether we're dealing with Rain Main or Gomer Pyle as our AD? We've either got a genius getting ready to lay down the royal flush, or we've got a guy over in the corner eating paste...

This. The Beav confirmed to me yesterday that the offer gives bev the research opportunities she wants. Bev isn't the problem

I don't think Beverly is the problem either, Jmo. But it has nothing to do with Beaver confirming anything.

Multiple people on VQ stating "Grudens closing on new house by end of the week"

Well, I just bought a house and it took about 5 weeks to close.

Admitting that Gruden is WAY more important than me, if true I have to think that their offer had to be accepted at least a week or two ago.

If this Butch situation is not dealt with, it will become more cancerous than Agent Orange ever was. Maybe that should be his new nickname.

Better start warming up!
