Do they really? I've tried looking at it from their perspective, and they realize they've got their residual source of income no matter how marginal the product. They may not like it, and say they feel our pain, but as long as they have their power and control, they sleep well at night.
From the standpoint of the everyday fan out here, we hear the near incessant ridicule and even pity caused by the perceived circus level cluster #$%! that is surrounding UT football right now. Especially those of us that live behind enemy lines.
At this point if all this seemingly confusing idiocy is being done to trot out Dan Mullen or Scott Frost, then we will all know exactly what the expectations of the people pulling the strings for this football program is. If it's a "splash" hire, all will be forgiven pretty quickly and a starved fan base will create excitement never seen around this program before.
This whole #EmptyNeyland thing is a crap sandwich created not by the fans, but many fans feel like the only method they have for voicing themselves and being heard is taking a bite even though they and the players that give their all suffer. The point is, they shouldn't have to even contemplate it...
