💕 the range is my get away as well. Even got my missus into shooting. My current baby is my M70AB2 Yugo underfolder. I’m am AK guy. 16 years of firing an M16/M4 has made it unenjoyable for me.

I think my range 💖, little weapons collection and Saturday football might possibly be responsible for a few of my divorces 😖. To many no honey you go, the Vols play today and well yes I did actually buy a new gun today.

Because forbid it that a man might have learned some stuff in his 87 years on the earth, after building a fortune and giving away more than most of us will earn in 10 lifetimes...

I agree, but again, what does he want?

Pretty sure he'll get it, but "it" might not be a championship football program.

I have contended since the beginning it is very unlikely but do not want to be "mean" about it like some posters. I enjoy this thread regardless. I do not know what happened Sunday night but I doubt that was what caused it. More likely they expected to let Butch go and Fulmer reasoned Currie into letting him finish the season which in retrospect may not be a terrible thing.

I am stoked however to have just been promised a seat at the Meet and Greet and press conference regardless of who they hire so BOOM on that!

you dog. you lucky dog you.

There was a lot of chatter over the weekend about the date 10/31...

If they chose not to outsource (which is way out of line with today's economics) someone lost a lot of money with that decision.

In the article it states they forecast a 3.3 million dollar savings over the next 5 years. There you go academics, take the money a get this thing done.

Do they really? I've tried looking at it from their perspective, and they realize they've got their residual source of income no matter how marginal the product. They may not like it, and say they feel our pain, but as long as they have their power and control, they sleep well at night.

From the standpoint of the everyday fan out here, we hear the near incessant ridicule and even pity caused by the perceived circus level cluster #$%! that is surrounding UT football right now. Especially those of us that live behind enemy lines.

At this point if all this seemingly confusing idiocy is being done to trot out Dan Mullen or Scott Frost, then we will all know exactly what the expectations of the people pulling the strings for this football program is. If it's a "splash" hire, all will be forgiven pretty quickly and a starved fan base will create excitement never seen around this program before.

This whole #EmptyNeyland thing is a crap sandwich created not by the fans, but many fans feel like the only method they have for voicing themselves and being heard is taking a bite even though they and the players that give their all suffer. The point is, they shouldn't have to even contemplate it...

At least Kaep isn't heading up the protest movement.....

#kneeland

Here's the real test for the #EmptyNeyland crowd. If Butch is retained, are you willing to give up your season tickets? If you're on the waiting list, are you willing to have you're name removed by eliminating your donation? Otherwise, you're making a statement in optics, not in real action.

What waiting list?

Could it be something like not being able to get anyone to agree to be the interim coach?

That's a stretch for me to believe. More likely Currie was going to let him go and Fulmer pointed out the pitfalls.

A good report I listened to compared LSU to Texas. LSU let Les Miles go in September and Texas fired Charlie Strong in November. Both of their #1s was Herman and where is he coaching now?

I am starting to be ok with him finishing the season if it helps us in any way get a good replacement.

"Lots of fun things can be done to ensure the Gruden deal. Maybe we will fly some airplanes during homecoming game with a specific message."

Empty neyland. The boosters are doin the same thing by threatening to with hold money. We can assist in that. What minor hit we take from it will be replaced ten fold should we land our man!

Imagine the whining on here if that 87 year old man and his family cut UT off? Who would pay the buyouts?

Who's to say that they did with the last two coaches fired?

Is there something on the UT AD financial records that would indicate that they did this? I mean they'd have to explain where the money came from.

Plus he's not exactly the wealthiest booster we have, Charlie Egren is worth a lot more than Haslam.

So again, how is it many think Haslam has all this power?

Seems like empty neyland would be offputting to a prospective coach like Gruden. And it would just further the image problem our fanbase has.

I paid more for my tickets than many that post on here make in a year. Paid is past tense. I'll be there supporting my Vols.

One word....

Longevity.

It seems to be something that happened quickly though. Why alert the media and get to that point without speaking with everyone(including Fulmer) beforehand.

I'm okay with Butch finishing the year but I don't think the LSU and Texas situation is comparable. Herman was already coaching in Texas and the longhorns can offer more than LSU. Plus it is an easier road with Texas.

He can be there longer than everyone, but if everyone else is against you, and depending on how the board works, I'll assume it works like any other board and that a simple majority will pass anything, then he has no power if stories are to be believed that everyone BUT Haslam is on board.
