If Gruden wants or has agreed to come to Tennessee and the UTAD screws this up, I’m probably checking out. I can’t take another crappy hire knowing Gruden was in the fold.

Not selling. Influencing. He said people from MIT dont predict the future they influence it.

Its a done deal on the booster end. The nerds in admin are holding it up. He came here to give the fanbase the info it wants to put pressure on the admin.

All makes perfect sense now. Gruden is 100% done on the money end and Gruden is on board. UTAD IS NOT.

Raging Orange it looks like you were posting this as I was typing. I'm glad because it proves that my analysis is rational. In the military before every flight in combat you get two versions of the enemy activity.

MLCOA: Most likely coarse of action
MDCOA: Most dangerous course of action

MLCOA is Beaver is correct and using the fanbase to help push the deal and agenda.

MDCOA: The administration calls their bluff and the UT Football program is at square one with no assistance from Boosters.

TIFWIW..again, I'm just guy who analyzes every little piece of sand for a place to land when under fire. Sometimes you get it right, sometimes you don't and land somewhere else.

Southern Miss will be CBJ's last game. Currie will announce the change after homecoming. Much like they did with Fulmer's end. Jmo.....

I would be happy just to know that Butch was on the clock and that we really were already looking for a new coach. Even with this story don't know if any of it is true.

A little bit, but I really do think he is still a fan. For as much national attention as he gets theses days he still has lots of attention on the vols

Watch his out kick the coverage shows. He wants Tennessee to hire a big time winning coach and he makes a lot of sense when talking about it. Clay can be a douche, but he genuinely seems to want Tennessee good again.

IF this were true ... ohhh lawd!
There would be the epic of all epic meltdowns. You are good...tip of the hat.

It was not the Gators. It wasn't who that would of been volatile. It was the package deal that would have been volatile.

Didn't happen...non-factor. All is well.

Maybe I’m reaching here, but maybe for the side that Beaver is representing (booster side) the deal is 100% done. Semantics, but I wouldn’t say 100% until the papers are signed.

If the booster side is trying to call the bluff, or force the hand at this point, of the AD/AA their messenger can not just flat out say, “go pound the doors of the AD, call his office, email, stories get leaked, ect” and it not be called out by the other side at some point. Sometimes people need steered in the right direction without being told verbatim what to do.

Don’t believe what you hear. Only what I tell you and everything will be fine. Promise :)

Ps... it’s delicate in here so I’m really not pulling things over on people. Just speculating. The leak about the $10m offer to gruden was, imo, intentional. Based on stuff a lot of insiders have said.. wouldn’t put it past reasonable that a deal of some kind with gruden has been made but the school will either balk at it for fall in line. Hence the bubba/beaver posts, VFLs pushing gruden, etc. it’s a big poker game where boosters just flipped over and ace to let the admin know they aren’t messing around.

Personally... I’m at about 20% he’ll be here

Pocket Aces. I expect insiders to have their poker faces on now and we won't hear to much unless it's leaks to the media. Ie. $10m dollar offer

How do we know he’s even a target? At this point, I’m convinced almost that we’re keeping butch.

Maybe Currie is keeping Butch around because he knows the next coach ultimately won't be his decision. So, in order to pad his ego a little, he keeps Butch around a little longer in spite of the boosters.

Butch ain't his guy either. Putting a bandaid on a severed limb only compounds the injury.

It’s both imo. He’s definitely a Vols fan, so it’s a win-win for him. Gets to vent about the Vols and grow his brand at the same time.

That being said, Clay has been awesome to listen to in these dark times, ever since the SC loss last year.

I’m on the same page, but luckily, I think, the money (ultimate decision maker in most situations) is on the new coach program.

Sounds like Volnation needs to turn the heat up under Currie’s a$$ then.

Y'all need to understand, and I'm sure many of you do, that this isn't about the boosters financially supporting the AD. This is about every single facet of the university having the necessary funding.

Impossible to become a top 30 public research university without shiny new labs. No shiny new labs without mega-boosters that love to watch winning football.
