I believe what hes saying is, according to his information, the deal structured between Boosters and Gruden has been agreed to and there are no snags. Gruden has said yes to their offer and hes been steadfast this time.
But, the deal has to get signoff by Currie, BOT, chancellor, etc. and the threat if the deal is rejected is pulled funding for future university projects.
Just my interpretation of what MIT is selling
Here's my translation...the deal the boosters have cooked up has been agreed to by Gruden. I do not think the hang up is the academic side of UT. I believe we have the Haslams vs the rest of the boosters. The Beav, bubba, today's news blitz with the details on the contract are all apart of a campaign to make sure everyone knows that this deal was real and agreed to. And if it doesn't come through it is because if the Haslams. For a family in politics, it would create a tremendous amount of public pressure that could call their hand.
I can appreciate you coming to his defense, but I'd rather hear his explanation since he's the one who seems to have all the answers and steps ahead of us in this whole thing. You may be right, though.

Gruden accepted what he is talking about...done deal. Although there is no deal to be signed yet. Until there is there will be pushback because some people don't like giving up power.
Not sure why him wanting to finish out mnf has anything to do with firing jones
I buy what MIT is selling and I understand how he is attempting to rectify the 100% confidence in a deal occurring with things not being finished but ultimately, I think he just needs to step back with percentage to 95 or 90%. Based on his story it seems that its a virtual certainty in his eyes but not yet in reality. Perhaps hes seen big money get their way enough that he does feel 100% confident even though a deal is yet to be completed. To me, as a math major, anytime I see 100% certainty before something actually occurs, Im skeptical. I believe MIT is who he says he is and knows what he says he knows, but I think he is overconfident in the competency of the UT administration. We are always capable of blowing it.These are the same questions I have been asking for answers from him
Let's say I agree... then what is the hold-up in announcing Butch fired and Gruden hired.... That is the part that has this board volatile ..... Not the BAD loss

This is counter to the 'boosters have all the power' argument. If that was true, then the admin would have to defer to the boosters no matter what.
