At least we'll get to see Chandler tomorrow. I have a feeling he'll have a good day.

That sounds fun, but it would make too much sense to give him the ball a lot to see what his elite athleticism can do.

Reality is we will limit an already limited playbook and throw the ball repeatedly to receivers for one or two yard gains, then punt and play defense.

New post (tos) from the D1 coaches friend supposedly offered by Gruden saying his friend is shopping K town homes. Posted as a screenshot by involuntary or I would quote.

The friend was on Basilio this morning also but Tony was biting.

Several posters have made good points about Mullen and the almost guaranteed success. I just get the feeling it would be Richt at Georgia. That's light years ahead of where we've been and nothing to scoff at.
And I understand that Frost would be a gamble, no guarantees. Just the pedigree and potential.
But while Mullen would most likely make us a very respected program again, I want that elite, "next Meyer" level. I don't just want opponents to be concerned, I want them to lose sleep.

It would take a lot of ifs and luck but I want to be talked about with the Alabama and Ohio State again, not just in the top 10. But with our luck, we could get Frost and him fail miserably.
Anyway, back to reality.

Hopefully our next coach will either be Mullen or Frost. In my mind, Gruden, Kelly, Patterson, Stoops, etc are not coming. Other than Brohm and Venables, I'm going to have a heck of a hard time getting on board with anyone else.

Can't be a coincidence that the people who told me in August that this team was going to compete for the East and get Butch an extension are the firmest believers of Grumors.

A lot of them were convinced Butch was a better coach than Mcelwain and Les Miles. Many were about the "Butch gets it" and "Butch Stones" crowd as well.

I might get flamed for this and he wouldn't be my first pick but I think Mike Bobo would be a pretty good hire. He has a ton of SEC experience as a player and a coordinator and is a safer bet to succeed in the SEC than other G5 coaches.

He would be complete garbage here IMO. He's proven next to nothing at CSU. Georgia fans hated that guy when he was the offensive coordinator there. It would also be a huge turnoff to have a head coach whose last name is Bobo.

Blinded by optimism - I'm legitimately envious.

I guess I'm somewhere in the middle of positive and negative in regards to the new hire. I don't think we get a top level guy - and as the days go by Mullen seems less realistic - but I know we're going to get someone better than Butch by default.

From VFL92 claims to have some connections. Posts reasonably but tifwiw.

He clarifies in other posts that his Gruden camp reference relates to those proactively wanting to move towards Gruden in boosters/AD.

I have my doubts that the Gruden stuff is true, but if it is, that's concerning. If this administration blows it with Gruden because they don't want to fire Jones yet, that's ridiculous. I would have a hard time believing that Gruden would away from the table just because of that though.

Agree!
