Can't be a coincidence that the people who told me in August that this team was going to compete for the East and get Butch an extension are the firmest believers of Grumors.
He won't get hired until end of MNF would be my guess. And because of that, he can talk up UT all night long and wear an orange checkerboard suit if he likes.

So if Gruden does get hired and starts playing up UT on MNF... Is that a violation?
Good question. It is my understanding he could discuss our program like any other coach but not recruits. The issue in this case is his contract and conflicts of interest.
I have one for you because I think you know other things. How confident are you in Gruden coming?
I googled MNF season and it doesn't end until late December which really sucks. I do wonder since it is not a coaching job if he could reveal an agreement earlier. He does all sorts of stuff unrelated to mnf without issue already.
I think these types of debates are petty. Different people view support of coach or team differently. I will openly admit I hoped Butch would do well because i trusted the AD less than I trusted Butch. He had shown glimpses of getting us back. Butch failed miserably this year but most of it was several decisions coming home to roost.
Peyton being involved and Currie being better than expected has caused my 180.
Not if hes in the layoffs this November. I do think his head could be on the chopping block. MNF is one of the better ratings for ESPN but Gruden is top dollar contract. They can take him out and bring in someone like Romo and save a fortune and probably still have good ratings.
I'm pretty much certain we are going to lose to Kentucky tomorrow. Everything is stacked against us. But even though I'm prepared for it mentally, I'm still going to be really disappointed. I continue to believe the team would have rebounded if we let Butch go a few weeks back.
I can't believe how quickly and how far Tennessee has fallen this year. There is literally no excuse for this.

1) they wouldn't fire him in the middle of the season so I doubt we'd know if he's in the cuts. He's going to finish the MNF out.
2) Romo is under contract at CBS. I've seen people say ESPN is going to get him for MNF but it rarely works that way. They'd have to buy his contract from CBS then pay him the amount he'd demand. Not going to happen.
