Apathetic about a football season, I guess?

I just don't see the point in calling someone an apathetic person (generally speaking) because they don't value a football season as much as I do. By that logic you could be labeled as apathetic for any of the thousands of things things that exist that you don't care that much about.

I'm honestly just trying to keep things in perspective, for my sake as much as anyone else's.

There's plenty of REAL things to stress out over. Like ghosts, and the reboot of Will & Grace, and pineapple on pizza.

Yep. Ultimately it's just kids playing a game. I try and remind myself of that from time to time.

I went to the Music City Bowl in 2010 and I remember completely losing my mind when the referees reversed the end of the game and said there was 1 second left on the clock after all. It wasn't fair. Tennessee wasn't the kind of program to have three losing seasons in six years (I had no idea). I was cursing up a storm, offering all kinds of crude gestures, and just generally behaving like a moron. I remember a kid turning around and looking at me, and how ashamed I felt that I had let something so trivial make me angry enough to behave like an idiot.

I genuinely don't want to lose the record. It's cool that Tennessee is one of only two programs to have it. I'm just saying it's not going to make me as angry as I let some things in the past make me.

I'm just going through a lot of bad real life crap, I think the stress just carries over to this place sometimes. I'm not the only one in here facing tough issues though, so it isn't an excuse to be a jerk. I forget sometimes in the moment that it is a real person I'm conversing with, who is also probably dealing with heavy stuff.

For the record, if we hire Bobo and Florida goes the Kelly/Frost route, I really *will* resort to apathy. I don't think I could just become apathetic by willpower alone, so I'll probably need to get a lobotomy. It will ruin my career and make me completely unable to care for myself, but I think it might be worth it.

Lol..me too, but I've expected them to botch this hire from the beginning so..That might be part of the reason I feel like the lion with a thorn in his paw lately.

Stress sucks. And yeah, it can infect everything. I try to come here to unplug a little bit. It helps.

I'm sorry things are rough. I hope you get through it alright.

I kicked a door heading into the concourse after we lost that game and loudly cursed. Said something about Dooley being a lawyer and needing to sue the refs, lol. Someone laughed and I immediately felt like an idiot. Then I saw a bunch of Vols fans fighting on the pedestrian bridge. Crazy night.

I'm to the point to where I'm not jumping on board with any hire unless it's a proven guy, or somebody that we have a really good will do well. A Bobo type, and I will refuse to believe he can get it done until I see it on the field consistently. Made that mistake with Dooley and Jones and I'm not making it again.

It's not because I think Bobo (for example) would be good. He very obviously wouldn't be. I just want to root for the Volunteers on Saturdays and Butch has wasted a lot of that time for me. I'm going to support the new guy until given a reason to regret it.

Butch has been bad, don't get me wrong. But most of my irritation with him has to do with his personality and the cartoonization of a once proud football program. Dooley was bad but he never once tried to lower expectations or use all the dorky clichés as selling points.
