I believe if Kiffin had stayed he would have done well. I believe he is an excellent recruiter and coach. His personal life and the way he left would probably prevent him from ever returning, but I believe UT would do well on the field if he were the coach. I believe USC was his dream job when he left and that he did not expect the sanctions to be as hard as they were. The recruiting sanctions negated some of his natural advantages as a recruiter. He did well as the offensive coordinator for Alabama. We were competitive on the field when he was here, with limited talent and had he stayed the talent on the field would have been better. He probably has wondered "what if" in in mind. Rarely do we get another chance to go back.
