I feel like Butch is on the verge of completely ruining the
appreciation of the fan base for all the hard work he has
done for this program. If he humbly leaves after the Alabama game, I feel like the majority of the fans will always remember him as a man of character that took over a job few wanted who worked hard and did the best he could leaving the program in better shape than he found it.

If he keeps just spewing out butchisms and hanging around after this week, I fear that legacy goes out the door.

Agree

Josh Dobbs hid a lot of the flaws in that offense.

QB runs set up the pass in Jones's offense, IMO. Dobbs was an erratic passer for most of 2014 and into 2015, but he was able to develop and grow his confidence because he was still able to make plays with his legs.

I never understood Butch's decisions to recruit guys like Dormady.

We should have 3-4 highly athletic QBs on the roster. Don't even need Deshaun Watsons or Marcus Mariotas. There are plenty of very fast guys out there who are mediocre passers who would thrive in this offense.

When the QB is a threat to break off runs at any time, everything opens up. But when the QB isn't a threat, this offense becomes ridiculously one-dimensional and ineffective.

Couldn’t hide his struggles making intermediate and longer throws.

It’s ok to give Butch, Debord and the rest of the offense a little credit. That team wasn’t that good offensively but did manage to break some rushing records.

Dobbs wasn’t Tebow, Cam or Manziell especially in 2015. Let’s keep it real.

Yes. Don’t worry Bass, Currie working behind the scenes. Butch will be gone at some point in the coming weeks.

Hopefully after Saturday. I do not want to see Butch take us to 4-8. That's my biggest concern.

But no, if he is at those schools I do not believe he still has a job.

I understand what you are saying. I just got tired of someone putting someone else down for what the brought to the table, constantly saying his info was wrong. i just got tired of the arguing when he has not clue if he is right or not for 50 pages. On second thought, maybe i do need a break. LOl

Nah, no break!! Things are just now getting good!

IMO, it becomes one dimensional and ineffective because of play calling. With proper play calling and development, we would be 5-1 this year and probably don't lose to UGA by that much. Need some creativity and call plays to players' strengths.

If Butch were at Florida, Alabama, LSU, or GA would he still have his job today?

Of course not. They would not have hired him to start with because quality coaches actually want to go there.

Gang - like it or not the situations and reactions of the firing of Fulmer followed by the Kiffin and Dools disasters have removed the shine off the UT job. Who would really want to work for Cheek and Hart? Seriously, who? Only a guy desperately wanting to move up and being arrogant enough to believe he can do it anywhere. Butch.

Now we have an unknown in Bev to go with a proven AD who is orange blooded and views the job as his last. Better situation if you can get past Saban's success and that you have to go through Bama twice to win the SEC. There's a smaller group of proven guys willing to take that on when they can make similar money and have an easier path to the playoffs elsewhere.

I do wish PosiBass would come back.. lol

PosiBass is the same guy just opposite direction.

He thought I was crazy because I would take Fuente over Butch preseason. Now he’s clamoring that he can’t wait that’s he’s fired by week 7.

He’ll be back on board after the new hire. We all will be. At least for a while.

Yes.

That is also why I am typically adamant on pointing out incorrect conclusions about the last coaching search. For example, Charlie Strong was nearly a done deal. He told Hart that he would like to have the job. Strong changed his mind after talking to his family for a pretty personal reason. Strong was towards the top of the search list.

SBV can think what he wants.

Not saying this to be smart but I'm curious what your connection is

Agree, a running QB hides poor offensive line play, and make WR's better by being able to get open on the scramble drill, which is what Dobbs thrived on.

Dormady is a good QB, just a terrible fit for our offense and offensive line.

We would be 5-1 because we're playing bad teams. This year's schedule is a joke. The biggest issue is still the square peg in a round hole fit for the QBs. Even JG isn't an ideal fit, although he fits better than QD.

Butch is 3-3 currently.

Muschamp went 4-8 AND THEY BROUGHT HIM BACK THE NEXT YEAR.

So I will disagree with your statement above with proof from 3 years ago.

Fair point. PosiBass is still more fun though lol.
