Maybe but it is just hard to see us firing a guy at 3-2 when he has done mostly good things here and ran a clean program. Also, he's not a fixture like Fulmer/Miles where you have to worry about him finishing strong and gaining sympathy. We can fire CBJ whenever we want.

In the end, all that matters is the hire and trying to hold recruiting together in the meantime.

I get it. But the past is past. Ignoring what's happening in the present impacts the future. CBJ has become a liability.

A lot of people have written this season off. I think it could have been turned around. And I think there would have been long-term value in that.

There's absolutely value in 15 bowl practices for these young guys. And we could've had an 7-5 season with Neyland staying relatively full each Saturday.

Now all that goes to hell if they allow Butch to go to Lexington and lose.

Nah. We should keep Butch. We're being irrational for wanting him fired midseason.

With a new coaching staff coming in those practices mean much less. In fact it might be much easier to hire a staff for a new coach if a bowl game wasn't happening. Easier to clean house sooner imo

Yeah cause you’ll be a better football player hanging out for the holidays instead of running, throwing, and catching.

C'mon now-- a losing season has zero benefits for UT. It's ridiculously sad that we're even discussing whether UT can or should make a bowl. That shouldn't even be the subfloor for this program.

Don't think anyone is arguing in favor of a bowl-less season. Just saying that Currie isn't scrambling to find a way to make sure we're in Birmingham on a cold late December day for a noon game.

I've never really found the use for the ignore button. I feel like if someone's opinion bother's me that much, I'm the one that needs to take a break lol.

I understand what you are saying. I just got tired of someone putting someone else down for what the brought to the table, constantly saying his info was wrong. i just got tired of the arguing when he has not clue if he is right or not for 50 pages. On second thought, maybe i do need a break. LOl

I'm with Ziti. This team just sucks. We're not necessarily being held back exclusively by coaching, and an interim probably won't make a huge difference. I think Currie recognizes that. If the team loathed Jones and was loaded with talent and we were primed to have an Ed Orgeron-like interim bump with Hoke, he would have already made the move, IMO. But I don't think there's going to be some big turnaround once Jones is gone. It could even backfire. We don't know what the locker room is like. Guys could be down on themselves for letting down their coach and would feel even worse if he was fired. Maybe Hoke, Shoop, and Scott aren't well-liked and Butch is still the glue holding the team somewhat together. Who knows.

Despite evidence to the contrary, I still believe he'll be fired on Sunday.

These last 5 games are winnable and I think to win 3 of 5 it will require a coaching change. Surely they see it the same way.

If he isn't fired Saturday then Currie is just another uncaring AD for TN. He'll prove that all he cares about is $ and that he doesn't give a crap about the fans or the players.

It's not the game that matters. It's really the most irrelevant part of the bowl process. We need the 15 practices for development purposes (and it also keeps our players invested instead of going home for winter break and having everyone in their ear telling them they should transfer).

It'll also be nice for these players to get a little bit of bowl swag.

Lot of people on here have changed their opinion of me since I turned against Butch when it became clear that he isn't a good football coach. Everyone loved my positivity. When we hire Frost or someone like him, it will return guys. I need Glitch back. He always cheered me up lol.

But nobody was taking shots at me before this other than Newt. He's done it since I've been here.

Nobody minds that you want butch fired. It is the repetitive posts. I think 90+% agree. We just don't say it over and over.
