Then fire him.

The season is essentially over. We're headed towards our 4th loss with 1-2 more likely. Just don't think he's concerned about whether we stay home in December or go to the Birmingham Bowl when he's about to make a career-defining firing/hiring decision.

I don't think Currie really cares that much about salvaging this season. At least not in terms of winning as many games as possible. Getting as many butts in seats for Southern Miss, LSU, and Vandy will be a priority, though, and that's where the interim thing makes the most sense for him.

The sad part for me? We are halfway through the year and I’ll consider this season a success if we don’t lose 8 games for the first time in program history.

Like a kick right to the balls

Not disagreeing with you. The inflection point was before SCAR.

Maybe but it is just hard to see us firing a guy at 3-2 when he has done mostly good things here and ran a clean program. Also, he's not a fixture like Fulmer/Miles where you have to worry about him finishing strong and gaining sympathy. We can fire CBJ whenever we want.

In the end, all that matters is the hire and trying to hold recruiting together in the meantime.

It's the 4-8 that I'm concerned about. But I'd love JG to get the experience of a bowl game and the extra practices.

Um he should be. If he can't multitask, he shouldn't be the AD. The extra bowl practices are hugely valuable.

They'll be practicing with the same crappy staff. It actually just delays the new guy and his staff taking over the program.

I'm sure that he WANTS Tennessee to make a bowl game and avoid a horrible season. But I don't think that's truly influencing his decision making right now.

Safety Cheyenne Labruzza out season w/knee, DE Darrelll Taylor still suspended for Alabama game. Evan Berry & Deandre Johnson questionable

Tough break

Bryce Love is going to win the Heisman, isn't he?

That will be the final "LOL Butch Jones, LOL Tennessee" headline of his tenure.

From what I can remember, he seemed genuinely torn on Tennessee or Stanford. Pretty sure he wanted the academics of Stanford, and he was being recruited as the 3rd RB in our 2015 class. Tough to complain with our top 2 guys in that class (Kamara, Kelly).

Love is definitely doing work out at Stanford though. Crazy numbers. But I'll throw out a hypothetical - if John Kelly was in that Stanford backfield instead of Love, wouldn't you expect him to put up just as good of numbers? And would Love be able to do anything more than Kelly has in this offense?

We get it, you don’t like Bass. Why not just put him on ignore or skip past his posts instead of continually taking shots at him?

Lot of people on here have changed their opinion of me since I turned against Butch when it became clear that he isn't a good football coach. Everyone loved my positivity. When we hire Frost or someone like him, it will return guys. I need Glitch back. He always cheered me up lol.

But nobody was taking shots at me before this other than Newt. He's done it since I've been here.
