That's when you insert an interim coach IMO.

I'm sure Currie wants to keep CBJ as long as possible. Once he fires him all eyes shift to the UTAD. Right now everyone is focused on CBJ and trying to guess when he's gonna get the ax.

I think we should have gone to an interim. It's high stakes poker and Currie better have the cards.

You would have beaten Florida, wouldn't have had the hangover versus UMass and would have beaten SC. Not sure what impact it may have had against Georgia, but you wouldn't have been embarrassed in the fashion UT was.

It still amazes me that after a week of practice and preparation, the best opening play you can come up with is an easy pick for Georgia. You would expect a staff could come up with at least one play that would have the defense completely off balance. Maybe not for 60 minutes, but at least for one *&%@ing play.

I attended a FBS game last Saturday night and an offensive coach for the home team told me that during the first two series the visiting team gave them formations they had never used the entire year and stopped them cold.

Before the third series they changed the whole blocking scheme and changed whole game plan. Offense score 44 points after change.

He then told me that he watched the UT game and said we never made a single adjustment to what SC was doing. The plays were there for the taking we just cannot or will not change.

IDT anybody wearing orange is enjoying this season. The negativity is miserable. Everything UT is being mocked. Nobody respects the players or their coaches. The team has problems and nothing's being fixed. If we take another historical loss to Bama, followed by an ugly loss at UK, I could see players start to check out.

If Butch resigns or is fired after Saturday, I would think the interim could rally the players for the last 5 games. At least that’s what I’m hoping for.

If I'm Currie I wait til after Bama to insert an interim.

Starting him out against them is setting him up to fail. Interim coach is gonna get a little boost out of the team for a couple weeks but when we get down to the end of the season I think we are gonna see the team lose focus again along with the assistant coaches who start focusing on finding their next job and not the current season/team/players.

That's why I would wait as long as I could to name an interim.

If Butch had been fired Monday there would have been more most likely.

Doubt it. Firing Butch gives more hope. Everyone knows its over. Plus, one of the recruiting guys that was quoted on here a few weeks ago said that we have many commitments that want to play for Tennessee but not Butch Jones.

Currie is letting us down. If Butch isn't fired after Saturday, Currie should be fired to. What is he waiting on?

Surely, the commits know he’s gone either via firing or resignation. As you mentioned the other day, I’m interested as to what is keeping them on board right now...someone talking to them in the back channels that they may want to stay on board for the new coach?

I’ve said this for a long time. Butch said “adjustments are overrated” and executing the game plan was more important. Just goes to show you how out of touch he is with reality. If he chooses not to adjust during the game then he’s doomed to fail. Or maybe he doesn’t know how. Pretty obvious Dobbs improvised on the fly a lot of times which is what has saved Butch up to this point. Can’t wait for the Butch Jones era to be over here.

Is anybody hearing Richt wants out of Miami? Totally weird rumor I just read about...

Haven't seen that one. I have thought about him in regards to our job but don't think he would leave his alma mater and has great class coming in. Miami isn't that same Miami though so never know. Stadium and fan support sucks. Switch to Adidas sucks. Never know.

Richt is a different coach at Mia than he was at UGA. He took back play calling and has opened things up a bit. Definitely motivated in recruiting. He would be motivated to get back at UGA. Be a heck of a storyline but doubt it's something that would ever haopen

Keep in mind that I feel pretty certain that they are not allowing official visits or at least limiting them nor are they traveling to see recruits. They're saving them for the new staff. IMO. Recruiting is in a holding pattern currently and when you are in a holding pattern you're backing up.

I think the recruits for the most part are waiting to see who the next coach is gonna be. They read the message boards. If they think there's a chance that Gruden or Kelly or another big name guy comes in, they may want to hold onto their seat.

But 70% of the players don't care about the outcome.

Sarcasm or for real? No competitor ever goes into a game wanting to lose. Where something like our current situation can have its effect is late in the game when it's on the line. For example SC game, a group of players on one side motivated to win at all costs vs possibly a group that has some that feel same way and some that are in the I really want to win but if we lose oh well since Butch is gone anyway category. Thenones thst don't care at all are likelynon the bench not playing

I’d take Richt in a second. Idc if he never makes the playoffs, he’d have us in Atlanta semi regularly, would be able to raid Georgia in recruiting pretty well, and (perhaps most satisfying of all) every time we beat UGA their fans would meltdown like CRAZY.

I'd lean more towards be really doesn't know how. Can't think on his feet.

If the commitments are all for Tennessee, be patient.

If you can Butch now and don't have a plan that can be announced, that's just as untenable a position as you have now. There will likely be attrition, but unfortunately it comes with the territory of a coaching change. The only way to avoid that is to announce the new coach at the same time and there can be a multitude of reasons why that simply can't be done.

And let's fire Currie...that screams of stability, doesn't it??
