But Peterson being picky about jobs is well known. If you can work the google, you can read all about why and how selective he’s been about where he wants to coach. The guy was at BSU 8 years and could have his pick of any school in any coaching search from 2009-2013.

He stayed put much longer than most G5 HCs would in that position. Hard to see some busy working at an FCS school out East having too much pull on him there lol

I don't really care what's been reported. I have a very good friend that is very good friends with David. I trust this friend. He tells me Petterson and David are very good friends and they discussed him coming to Tennessee if he was named AD and he was very receptive to the idea. Remember, he was never leaving Boise State.

What's even way-more-LOL, imo, is that a big, former or soon-to-be-if-things-continue-this-way-out-of-the-top-10-program like Tennessee would even be considering going in and taking a coach from a school like UCF which is trying to build -- we should be getting coach from someone our own or larger size / with similar or larger resources as ours (competing with other big boys, not taking from those with less resources). We'll see.

We should be taking the best available coach. WHEREVER they’re at!

It just doesn't happen and that's why I don't think any active coach at a top 25 program is realistic
