I was there for it all last time, it's going to get so much more insane over there. People joke about watching Gruden's tie color on MNF but last time it was hilarious each week with thousands of posts each night. If Gruden wears orange tonight freak will have to upgrade servers.

Lol! My brother and I were talking about that. Remember when he wore a red tie on MNF and Arkansas fans became convinced he was going there instead?

My job at the time had a big conference in downtown Nashville during the peak of the Grumors. I ended up drunkenly telling a few clients that Gruden was 100% coming to UT. I left out the fact that my source was VolNation.

I was watching the whole time in 2012 but I have only been to that thread once for a couple of pages this time. Can't get my hopes up

Remember thinking that Arkansas "out hired" is when they got Beliema. Now 4.5 years in id say Butch has been better (even tho we lost the head to head battle).

Just got caught up over in the Gruden thread and man do I feel like an outsider. Almost everyone in there has sources!

Same posters that on are on VN all the time and never break any story about anything.
But come coaching search time, they know everything before it even happens.

I've heard all of this before.

Not saying anyone is trolling or lying but, there's still the question whether he ACTUALLY wants to coach in college.

I'm just operating under the assumption that we're going after an up-and-comer that I'll have to Google to figure out who the hell they are, out of sheer self preservation.





But if this happens...I'm not a small man...I'll scream like a girl and do back flips.

It's crumbling for sure, but if you're implying that they might know something, I'd say its doubtful.

I truly do think that most of them would play much better with different coaching.

No arguments. Or, if they weren't cutting it, they would try someone else.

I think it speaks volumes about the power of UT. Many of these kids were drawn to UT not just the coaches. It also shows that UT recruits itself better than most want to admit.

Makes me realize Jon Gruden likely wouldn't even have to leave the state of TN to sign top 5 classes every year. The university and his name alone would be enough. Get the kids to visit and it's over.

The last coach search and big gruden rumors we're a blast, I was kind day Wondering how it would be this time...seems like more people believe...I remembered last time there was supposedly an actual position staff with names being mentioned before he "backed" out. Seems it's getting close to that time again. Lol

I think Chip Kelly and Gary Patterson could have top 10 classes with minimal effort as well.

Frost will need to be able to recruit.

Not saying stars don't matter. In fact, I'm a proponent of them mattering quite a bit

I lived in New York in 2012. Had a friend there who went to Cal and was presumably one of the few who frequented Cal message boards to follow recruiting. One night we were watching a game together and he said “Whoa! Is Tennessee hiring Gruden?” He showed me his message board and someone had a clip of a SpringBokVol post on Volnation as their source and they were all talking about what a coup that would be. Funny stuff!

Gruden knows this crap is going on. His damn son goes to UT, and he hung out down here all weekend with his frat. The conversation was most certainly brought up lol. If he’s not interested he should just come out and say it. The Grumors will be over. Why he doesn’t do that, I have no clue.

I'm not implying anything. I think it's odd we haven't seen the class completely blow up. I do think they are being told to wait for something that could be really good. Not any specifics though.
