Then Patterson, any coach worth half a damn can recruit at UT (see Botch Jones)

Hard pass on Lovie.

No to Chip Kelly as well, I don't think that Oregon offense will work week in and week out in the SEC.

Listened to Ainge on 104.5 today. He confirmed what I've been saying about our run game be shut down by defenses with 6 men in the box by slanting to the play side. We have 6 to block 6 and can't get it done. Part of its missed assignments and confusion on who to block and part of it is the fact that the defense doesn't have to hesitate at ALL and the backside DE is crashing so hard he makes the tackle from behind because there is nothing to keep them honest. I've been posting this in recent years. They have stopped using counters and traps as well as the jet. It's just so easy to defend now. Even if JG runs the read it will not be enough to help Kelly/Chandler to dominate like they should. It's just awful.

Posters point out the O-line being terrible. Any O-line will stink it up when the D knows what is coming every time. They have literally cross trained the players so much they no longer simply play the game. They think first and act second because they never develop any continuity or familiarity with one position. That crap has been going on for 5 seasons.

I have no idea who will replace Butch, but that guy is not going to be here until the end of the season... after we get humiliated this weekend, attendance and $$ will drop off to an empty stadium and no recruiting commits... the players know he a dead man walking and will only go through the motions... it will not be pretty to watch. The Admin cannot afford to let this get that low or they won't be able to get any coach worth his salt. Stop the bleeding by installing an interim, I don't care who it is... it wipes the slate clean and they will be hitting the reset button. I bet we see more fire in the players.

And quit with the "if we keep it close" and "if we beat ____"..... he is done. If we cannot beat SC, how in the world does anyone think we keep it close this weekend or even win 2 of the remaining 6?? The team will literally be sleep walking... SMH

And for all of those out there coming up with lists/position coaches and don't have Rock still here as the S&C coach-- you are delusional... the guy is the best.

Imo it would be a good idea for an up and coming coach like Frost to keep him
But an established older coach should bring in a younger guy.

That's what scares me of Frost. Will he bring in his UCF guys? Or will he bring in big name guys with him (I want him to keep shoop, Gillespie, Hoke, and Rock)

Agreed. This year is worse than ever. Hard for an OL to deal with a DL that is slanting hard, esp when the OL is suffering from brain cramps. That's why it looks like we are getting whipped physically. Our talent isn't as bad as what it looks. Jack Jones looked much better as a freshman.

So glad to finally be getting rid of this coach and his high school level philosophies. Honestly I think most HS coaches would be more creative and less stubborn.

Thank you Butch for improving the talent but we are moving on now and it's your fault because you are too stubborn to admit any weaknesses or faults. I hope you learn from this experience but I doubt you will because in your eyes everything and everyone else is to blame, not your infallible system.

Here's my guess:

Alabama destroys us Saturday. (duh)

Sunday at around 2 PM, a notice is sent out that the University of Tennessee and Butch Jones have mutually agreed to part ways with a press conference to follow the next morning.

Hoke is named interim. The buyout figure matches what we would owe Butch if we waited to the end of the year to fire him.

I would like the new coach to keep those guys and maybe Warren, but would trust him to do what is best.
