Year 2 and he's the favorite to win the East. Took Butch until year 5 (different circumstances), and he couldn't get it done.

We will def know more about the type of coach he is by next year. That schedule is pretty brutal @LSU, Aub plus normal tilts with us, fl, @SC and ga tech. It will be mainly his recruits by then with no Chubb, Michel or Goodwin he won't be riding Richt's coat tails then.

Eh Johnson has shown he can run good routes but that's about all thus far. I'm not sure he has the athleticism to ever be much more than a #3 guy.

what has palmer showed u in these past two games?..he got some separation on some throws but it was Indiana state..i just want to see how he do against a legit sec defense..thats the only way I can judge the kid..Brandon is the real deal..he is leading the team and catches and targets to me it shows me that him and dormady has good chemistry..it just a matter of time before Brandon has his breakout game

The coolest thing Butch ever did was take a punch from Mack Crowder without showing any physical signs of being stuck.

I also liked when he expressed his disdain for a group of booing fans with a well-deserved "f*** 'em."

Of course, I also pull for the heels when I watch wrasslin.

For Butch not to be the favorite until year 4 and Kirby is the favorite in year 2 should tell everyone all they need to know about the states of both programs when they both took charge

Funny I read someone talking up for McElwain. I don't think Butch is a good head coach but horse teeth is trash. He's done nothing of significance at Florida. Winning the East is not an accomplishment now. Especially when Bama destroys you for it. And he hasn't developed one guy on the Florida offense. He's horrible period and a garbage recruiter.

I've ignored this point a hundred times so I guess I'll have to address it.

1) most of the talent I'm talking about are in the last two recruiting classes - the two that have Smart's name on them. I brought it up at all as a counterpoint to the quoted posters' idea that we would be in worse shape if we were stuck with Smart or McElwain. Mac is debatable - but going forward, I don't think a neutral observer would pick Butch Jones over Kirby Smart for the next three year window - and I don't think that highly of Kirby at all.

Vandy was better than Tennessee that year. We were also playing our 4th string freshman QB, and were it not for a phantom block in the back penalty, we win that game.

The 2016 Vandy loss is much, much worse than 2013. The 2013 loss was gut-wrenching but that was a good Vandy team and an awful Tennessee team.

Rewatched Indiana State. If D Taylor doesn't start setting the edge and stop the inside move every snap, he'll become a pash rush specialist instead of every down DE.

I feel we should start Kongbo, Kmac, Tuttle and Phillips against Florida. Contain run and blitz with Bituli and Gaulden when bringing pressure.

I've been wondering for the past two years if we are asking our DEs to pinch down rather than contain, because it sure doesn't seem like any of them are concerned with setting the edge.
