No. In 2015 UT was picked to finish 2nd in the East behind UGA, and UF was picked to finish 3rd. UT finished 2nd, as was predicted, while UGA and UF flipped at "1 and #3. Which is why UGA fired Richt.

You guys can't get past sec media days predictions. You know that's a tiny fraction of the total media right? And almost none of the SEC media days voters are national guys. I listen to sports talk shows all over the country while I travel. I heard plenty of national guests say Tennessee would win 9 or 10 regular season in 2015. Pair that with choking away huge leads, and we get negative national attention. That attention has literally 0 to do with volnation.com whining about our program.

But I agree with Ziti, we've said our piece and still don't agree with each other, so time to move on.

I work in digital marketing for a restaurant group, buying followers is a normal thing when you are promoting a brand. LOTS of companies/brands do it. Not surprised Butch/UT did. Smart move.

I really don't know why there's so much teeth-gnashing over Butch these days. We're almost at a "resolution" to this supposed problem one way or another.

If he doesn't get it done, he has anywhere from 2-14 months left on the job. If he does get it done, he's our coach for the foreseeable future, but will have won enough games to truly establish himself and elevate the Vols back to national relevancy.

I agree with this. While I will probably have posts of frustration, it's all academic until at least the regular season is done.

Rewatched Indiana State. If D Taylor doesn't start setting the edge and stop the inside move every snap, he'll become a pash rush specialist instead of every down DE.

I feel we should start Kongbo, Kmac, Tuttle and Phillips against Florida. Contain run and blitz with Bituli and Gaulden when bringing pressure.

Make Florida sling it to win.

I said the same thing about Taylor but Shoop said this week their plan was to push the backs to the edge because we were faster than them.

Was true except for their RB Booker. He beat Jumper consistently when Mcdowell was taken out by lead blocker.

Indiana State simply ran away from Bituli and towards Taylor all game .

I don't follow other teams closely enough to know this - but is it common to play differently when you know you're going beat a team? That seems like a dangerous line to straddle when you don't have enough reps of your actual strategy vs. quality opponents.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee’s SEC rivals already have circled two California wide receivers as future targets.

The Vols might not be far behind.

Alabama and Florida have reached out and begun the recruiting process on Class of 2019 prospect Mycah Pittman Jr. Neither school has offered yet, but those offers surely will come soon. Pittman holds notable offers from UCLA, USC and Michigan State.

Pittman’s teammate Johnny Wilson classifies as a sophomore and is a part of the Class of 2020. He has received notable offers from UCLA, USC and Oregon after just one year of play in high school.

The connection

Two of the best wide receivers in California don’t seem as if they would have much of a connection with Tennessee, but that’s exactly the case with Pittman Jr. and Wilson.

Why would Pittman and Wilson consider Tennessee, or any other SEC school for that matter, in their recruitment when the likes of USC and UCLA already have made their interests very clear?

Well, Pittman and Wilson play for Calabasas High School, where the coach is Casey Clausen and the offensive coordinator is Rick Clausen. The brothers played in 61 games at quarterback for Tennessee from 2000-05.

Rick Clausen said he believes his star wideouts would be open to the idea of playing outside the Golden State when their college choices come around.

“They are not localized to California,” Clausen said. “They want to see what else the country has to offer.”

Coaches with the best interests of their players at heart never would force a prospect to play or consider anywhere he wouldn’t want to go. Pittman and Wilson sound open to the idea of playing on the other side of the country, though, and if that’s the case, then the Volunteers should jump into the recruitment immediately.

“We talked to coach [Tennessee’s Butch] Jones, and I think they are going to get on Pittman,” Clausen said when asked about Pittman’s potential recruitment by the Volunteers.

Jones already follows Pittman on Twitter, so the process already might have begun.

The 6-foot, 195-pound Pittman rates as a 4-star prospect and the No. 10 wide receiver in the Class of 2019, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

“Mycah is a running back in a wide receiver’s body,” Clausen said. “With the ball in his hands, he makes unbelievable plays.”

Pittman put up great numbers in his sophomore season. He caught 55 passes for 1,329 yards and 10 touchdowns. He tied the California state single-game record for receiving yards in one game with 380.

Wilson might be an even more tantalizing prospect to college coaches, though. He stands 6-5, weighs 210 and “runs like a deer,” according to his offensive coordinator.

Those measurables can put a lot of pressure on opposing defenses, specifically the cornerbacks.

Wilson had 58 receptions for 855 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2016. He really came on at the end of the season. In his final two games, Wilson caught 18 passes for 169 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Wilson rates as a 4-star prospect and the No. 4 wide receiver in his class, according to 247Sports.

McElwain getting mocked on Lebatard for saying "3rd down and 7 isn't the most important thing in life."

Only winners get to say that stuff lol.

Might I just say, that so far so good with Currie. He's doing a dang good job. Seems like his hire for baseball was a good decision also. I think we got a good one.

Was Jimmy's comment about the Lady Vols blue being the 4th official color true? If so, would the foosball team add it to their uniform for October? I don't think they should, but who knows? THIS IS A QUESTION NOT A STATEMENT

You got fake accounted by jimbo hyams.

Sounds about right. I feel like if Jones went 6-6 most of the buffoons on here would say we should keep him because he's done such a better job than Doofus. They don't settle in Gainsville like idiot fans up here do.

Bro... YOU ARE ONE OF THE IDIOT FANS LEADING THE MISERY CHARGE.

What it really looks like is you and KV don't get it at all

Yeah, I'd hate to be stuck with those bum coaches.

Jim McElwain: 19-9 at Florida, 13-3 in conference, two SEC East titles in two tries.

Kirby Smart: 10-5 at Georgia, 4-4 in conference, best collection of young talent in the league besides Alabama.

Butch Jones: 32-21 at Tennessee, 14-18 in conference. 0 SEC East titles in 5 tries.

Yep, and donkey teeth and Kirby took over dumpster fires while Butch took over a loaded roster.... wait.... that's backwards?

Did you know that the 10-5 Kirby at UGA with best collection of young talent in the league besides Bama also lost to Vandy last year without the rash of injuries Butch and Co had? Beat Nicholls st by 2. Beat Mizzou by 1. Beat Kentucky by 3.

Oh sorry that doesn't fit your narrative so keep on

I went to twitter to check hyams after you said that and couldn't find it. That's when I knew you got jimbo'd.

Might be one of the most successful fake Twitter accounts ever. Rishvol isn't the first and won't be the last Vols fan to get fooled by it.
