I think emissions from cars were at an all time low in 1850. However, horse and mule emissions were excessively high.

It's like those "Smart Cars". The cars might be smart but the buyers.. . not so much. For the tiny size they are, their fuel economy sucks. Their are much larger cars available that can either match or come very close and you don't sit in the trunk while driving.

No, I bought a Toyota Highlander Hybrid for my girlfriend. It's big, 4WD and is a V-6. It gets about 30 mpg around town. On road trips, it gets pretty horrible gas mileage.

No, hybrids use electric around town, but it doesn't use it too much once you start driving 80. It's a pretty good vehicle, but if you did a lot of hwy driving it wouldn't serve any purpose.

It of course depends on the car. The batteries wont last the life time of a car, so in the end it's more cost and pollution than a gas car.

Nature always corrects itself. Look at the 1700's for an example. I believe climate change is cycles. We speed it up with pollution.

So all the hubbub about hybrid/electric cars vs gas cars is just BS then? Sounds like it.

Also read that unless the city/area where you plug your car in to recharge its batteries uses hydroelectricity, then one is actually causing more pollution with those cars because of the pollution caused by the power plant producing that current to recharge your car.

The power that is mostly produced by coal. The electric car thing is BS once you do the research.
