I ignored that guy a long time ago when I was still perusing the FF. He was just as off his rocker there as he is here.

Listen, I'm all for differing opinions and debate and whatever, but it's all in how it's presented. He just simply states everything as 'fact' and degrades anyone and everything that he doesn't agree with. Always. Did it in the FF too. I have no use for people like that. What a sad existence to lead.

Hope he gets some Jesus in his life and in turn, finds the humility he desperately needs.

Then what are your thoughts about CA or the federal government attempting to homogenize the states. The Constitution would never have been passed without a promise of state rights, but the "all other things" list seems to be dwindling daily.

With every step in the conversion process there are losses. Coal or other fuel to electricity, charging batteries, and then the conversion of stored electric energy in batteries to mechanical motion. It's all covered in thermodynamics - you can't get something for nothing and you can't get as much as you thought you could (deals with conversion losses and inefficiencies). There are significant losses in long electric power transmission lines, too. Probably better to just burn the fuel where you need it.

Same thing for ethanol. The poorer gas mileage means that you are carrying useless weight to your car every time you add watered down fuel. I've never seen an honest discussion about the oil consumed to produce a gallon of ethanol; but by the time you add cultivation, transportation, distillation, etc (and the resultant pollution) it's likely only worth it to the corn lobby.

Perhaps it is because my views are not so black and white. But that is something you cannot handle because it doesn't fit neatly in your black and white view of the world and everyone in it. Anyone that thinks, acts or lives different than the left, They have a label. And, this is the way they want it to be because it makes it a lot easier to keep people against each other.

All politicians do it. And they do it to keep the rest of us fighting among ourselves while they steal the gold. Politicians have everyone believing that anyone that thinks differently is the problem. In reality, the differences between most people are rather small. But that isn't what wins elections. What wins elections is telling people that "they" are the enemy and out to destroy the American way of life.
