but i can see us losing 3 or 4 games easy. where does that put us. Jones has not did any better than a 4 loss team, moving around deck chairs on the Titanic may not improve the team as much as we all hope for. all the coaching changes looks like he is taking a huge roll of the dice. he could roll snake eyes.

We definitely could be a 4-6 loss team or could be a 2-3 loss team. The group of UF,UGA,Ala,LSU,Ga Tech and even S.Carolina simply because we haven't figured out how to beat him as a HC yet. I think Ala and LSU are both highly probable losses. We have better than average shots at winning the GA,GA Tech and SC game. Florida is very winnable but as we all know we have been known to find any possible way to choke against UF.Not gonna lie playing at Mizzou and UK makes me very nervous but we should win both. GA Tech is very winnable and I'm very glad it's the opener and not playing them midseason where we only have a week to prepare. But their blocking scheme does make me nervous just like it did against AF with the potential for serious and numerous injuries.

I definitely love being in the top 25. Now let's just stay in it. It was awesome finishing the past three seasons ranked. There's just something about having a little number next to us on the television scoreboard that makes the game so much more enjoyable.

Im pretty sure.....

Not to be exact but its the 4th post, has 8 likes and is qouted once in this page.

Pretty sure it was sarcasm or just tying to fish for likes. Most majority of us agree that we don't deserve to be #1.

Ended 2016 at 22, starting 2017 at 25; seems reasonable. Everything is speculation until September 4th.

Yup, but you would think with the way pundits are touting our personnel losses, that they would drop us lower in the rankings than just three spots from the end of last year. I wouldn't be surprised to have one of the pre-season polls have us unranked. But, like you and others said, its just speculation till they kick it off.

tons of depth and experience at Oline. Question marks almost everywhere else.

of course Butch basically had an NFL Oline his first year and was terrible as he kept running a read option with no option.

And he was running his system which requires more athleticism from the O-Line, with a bunch of road graders. O-line personnel didn't fit the scheme of the new coaching system. If you think about. There have been very few of Butch's O-lineman that were above 315 lbs. I wish Big Orlando Brown Jr. could have changed that. Kid has turned into a good player at OU, as much as I hate to say it. Good news is I think Smith and Mays will be better for us.

Based on track record, the coaching staff that Butch has now is a much safer bet than the staff that they replaced. I see it more as Butch making upgrades where it was needed, even if that meant losing someone he has worked with for years.

the coaching changes look like a improvement. but when you make large personal changes in any business even if the people are better that does not mean there will be better results. how did the million bucks a years DC work out for us last year. that hire did not work out as planned. you have a OC that has never called plays.some of the other coaches can not hold jobs very long for some reason. the problem could be Jones not the staff. i am not saying it is. we will find out soon.

The 25th spot seems about right for the pre-season to me. Of course,it's just a guessing game untill games start being played like many have said. If things go right the team should end up a lot higher at season's end. How much higher depends on the coaches and players.

If that's not what you're saying, which seems to me you are, what exactly are you saying?

we do not no what the problem is...i give Jones credit for what he has done and support all the coaching changes. however you have to be opened minded at the same time. all theses changes and problems we have had in the last two years could be masking the real problem. Jones has hit the high water mark. 8-4 is as good as it gets

I think we should be in the preseason 18-22 range. Will set up nicely when we are undefeated and top 15 for the Georgia game in Knoxville. But I can't really argue with 25 honestly.

And Florida has no business being in the top 20. The hype machine is smoking for the Lizards.
