And the best team they beat was Miami. ND was 4-8. He also lost to Syracuse and Ga tech. He plays in a terrible division. Worse than the SEC east. The east this year had wins against the west. Much better than the division Fuente played in. Oh, and Butch beat him with a healthy roster by 3 touchdowns.

Pitt was their best win, IMO. Pitt also beat Clemson and PSU.

Yeah I remember that INT. We had the ball in the Redzone, our OL was getting whipped all day, and our staff decided to let our "terrible" QB drop back and throw a 50/50 ball to North instead of playing it safe, running the ball, and (at worst) getting the 3 points that would've won that game for us.

You're thinking of the first INT at the start of the 3rd quarter, the play after JRM got an INT. Not the second one.

I live outside Memphis and know Fuente pretty well. He's a great scheming coach, but he has not proven he can recruit yet. Some people think that he can do it all based off his last two year's at Memphis, but some of the talent that he used in year 3 at Memphis was recruited by Larry Porter. Not sure that his personality is like a Butch to be able to recruit high level players. He has to prove he can recruit better to be at a school like UT.

Well since we're talking about it I'll chime in. If UT moves on from Jones I'm looking at the Colorado coach, Fuente and Gary Patterson. Think Patterson would be a long shot but he was interested in 08. Throw 5 and a half maybe 6 million his direction and tell him to come on.
Chas Morris is another guy to keep an eye on. If He can get SMU over the next hump, his career will definitely be on the Fuente path.

Yes. That INT was the real game-loser.

The one to end the game was basically expected. Asking Worley to drive the field in a two minute offense with that OL against that DL and secondary was just asking for failure, whether it be an INT, sacks, or turnover on downs.

So on 247 Recruiting rankings alone, basically VT lost 2 games they shouldn't have (GT and Syracuse) and won 4 they shouldnt have (ND, UNC, Pitt and Miami). UT lost 2 they shouldn't have (USCw and Vandy), Beat one they shouldn't have (UGA).

That's not including Injuries or suspended players, Ect

Part of this is because Butch has recruited very well. Butch set the expectations with his recruiting.

The sports talk guys down here in NW Florida are convinced that Butch will be fired. They talked about Larry Fedora being a good fit.

If that comes to pass, be prepared for at least five more years of chasing that ever-elusive SEC championship.

So Zaire transfers to UF and now they think they're gonna have a legit offense....uh no. I read somewhere that in his 3 years at ND that he only attempted 98 passes.

I'll buy a little into UGA with all that young talent, an elite qb, elite TE, 2 elite RB. I have no idea why people keep hailing UF with no proven talent and very few good recruits.

Only thing I could point to is because they've somehow won the East 2 years in a row.
