Well since we're talking about it I'll chime in. If UT moves on from Jones I'm looking at the Colorado coach, Fuente and Gary Patterson. Think Patterson would be a long shot but he was interested in 08. Throw 5 and a half maybe 6 million his direction and tell him to come on.

Id take Whittingham over Fuente right now

MacIntyre sucks. Best wins were against wazzu and Utah. I expect a big drop off for them this year. Especially considering Taggert stole his prized defensive coordinator away.

Fuente doesn't seem to like recruiting. Very proud of his diamond in the rough discoveries like Lynch, but you gotta have star power to compete with the best in the SEC. I don't like him as much as some because I feel like it would be trading Butch's recruiting for Fuentes coaching. Fuente is the football equivalent of Rick Barnes. And I like RB alot, but I wouldnt fire him for a coach whose abilities make the hire a wash.

Wonder where we were ranked after losing 3 of our 4 captains, our MLB, 3 of 4 DT's, back up OLB, corners at different parts of the year, both starting safeties at points of the year, our KR and back up safety as well, all but one offensive lineman at different points of the year, and Jalen Hurd? 🤔

I took out DKjr, Sutton, Sapp, JRM and it would put us at at 19, Which is behind Florida.

I'll take out whoever else we had out vs SoCar and see where we are

What makes you this?

And only the goober that just likes to piss on everything Jones said that. The rest of us just complimented him. But seemed like you went after every compliment equally.

Hyperbole much? I've acknowledged accomplishments within my last few posts. You're either willfully obtuse, or read like Derek Zoolander.

Neither.
I take the entire body of work into account. You worked hard to get your rep, don't whine about it now.
Although I could see whining as a supporter for your reputation.
Now we have a conundrum.

I'll get back to you.

Oh, I'm not worried about my reputation, but at least be accurate.

I'll let you continue thinking it through. Don't hurt yourself.

Actually i would say the law of averages is against us...and what this fan base gonna wait another 5 years for that said coach to come into his own here? Fat chance.

That's not what I'm saying.

You said there is nobody who could come in and take over without setting us back.

I'm saying that that is most likely untrue and the odds are that there is a coach out there who could come in and hit the ground running for us. Of course identifying and getting that guy is the issue, but saying there's no one out there who wouldn't set us back is likely untrue.

As for speculation, every post regarding our future falls in that category, does it not?

Well, duh. But your post was worded with such certainty I just figured I'd give you a little reminder lol

Gary Patterson is not leaving TCU. He would have already if he was gping to. He sure isnt gonna come coach in a harder conference at this stage of his career.

Ok if the odds are 1 in 100 ill agree, you want those odds?

Also i said i dont know of anyone and have asked for options. Ones have been brought up but none in my mind are any kind of slam dunk or guarantee to be an improvement over CBJ.

Name me a few then that you are pretty sure as you say would take us "five steps further."

"Who will we get, huh?" Isn't a great argument for keeping Butch if we don't see a good team this year.

Identifying and bringing in a coach is the job of our AD, and possibly a search firm. Our last coaching search was a big upgrade, even though we had to take our 3rd choice.

Going into Dooley's last year, very few people would've identified that guy who's ass we kicked in 2011 to be the guy we needed to stabilize our program. But he was out there, nonetheless. And we found him and upgraded.

No way to know for certain we can't upgrade again if, come December, it looks like Butch's progress has stagnated.

Not calling anyone out specifically. Lot of people wanting Fuente tho and some saying they would take Fuente today. I'm just saying, Butch hasn't lost to a team like Syracuse for crying out loud, he smoked Fuente head to head, and he's a much better recruiter than Fuente it appears, and yet people are thinking he's better. Why? What's he done? That one win over Ole Miss enough to impress y'all? He won his division? Okay, terrible division. He didn't beat anybody any good to do it. He lost to Ga Tech! How will y'all feel if we lose to Ga tech come September? But you want

Fuente? 🤔

They will be happy cause they could fire butch and hire some fuente who may have lost to Tech for two years in a row.

Syracuse is literally one of the worst teams in football. It isn't worse, not even close. And again, Butch had a bunch of injuries. VT was healthy. They got blown out by Syracuse. Blown out. Be careful what you wish for

Syracuse has a HC who will likely be making a jump to a bigger school in a few seasons, also.

Muschamp didn't coach that game in Gainesville in 2015. If you recall in 2014, Worley threw the game losing int. Worley was terrible and Muschamp had a significantly better defensive roster than we did for that game.

Yeah I remember that INT. We had the ball in the Redzone, our OL was getting whipped all day, and our staff decided to let our "terrible" QB drop back and throw a 50/50 ball to North instead of playing it safe, running the ball, and (at worst) getting the 3 points that would've won that game for us.
