The worst part about his article is that there are several here... who validate it with their apologies for Jones. Mediocre and the "good ol' days" seem to be good enough. You even see that exact line of argument with references to "historical averages" and the rarity of winning championships.

So it is reasonable to think that someone who criticizes mediocre performance somehow enjoys or accepts mediocrity.... but unreasonable to question those who excuse mediocrity?
