D4H's 2017 NFL Draft Review (Best Picks, Best Drafts, and Predictions)

Numbers don't constantly lie. They just sometimes do. Which is why I always say go to the tape. I wasn't impressed with Bosa's tape that is why his numbers didnt impress me in turn.

Dak Prescott put up big numbers last year and his tape also impressed me. Zeke Elliott put to numbers that impressed me last year and so did his tape. Bosa's tape simply didn't match the impressive stats he put up.

I've never said stats don't matter. Just that they are not dispositive. That is why I said Dobbs was ARGUABLY the best offensive player in school history. If I believed stats were dispositive, I would have said he's the clear cut best offensive player in school history. But I didn't say that.

So, essentially, stats matter when you like what they say, and they lie when you don't.

Why should anybody trust your interpretation of film?

Because I'm really smart.

As I said earlier just watch how my evaluations of the 2017 NFL Draft class totally school the evaluations made by NFL teams.

I couldn't help but laugh. You've proven in debate after debate that you're about average in terms of logic. You consistently contradict yourself. I've seen so many posters on this board take you to school in logical debate.

You do know that most smart people never brag about how smart they are because they know they're dumb in comparison to smarter people?

I'll test you. Despite this being a bad QB class, why were there 3 QBs taken in the top 15?

Oh look, having to give oneself props for things that haven't happened yet. Nobody is going to buy the smart description until there's a strong positive correlation between your predictions and what actually occurs. You're deep in the red at this point so there's literally no reason for anyone to believe you're even an average prognosticator, much less above average.

Josh will equal that by himself in his first 16 starts.

He'll be the guy that makes 300/100 games a more common occurence.

Remember before Josh went for 300/100 as a sophomore against South Carolina that only Johnny Manziel and Tim Tebow had done it before in SEC history. And only Manziel did it more than once. Josh joined him the following year as the only player in SEC history with 2 career games of 300 yards passsing and 100 yards rushing.

How did those NFL careers end up?

Oh wait, that doesn't matter because being awesome in college doesn't mean anything about how it will work out in the NFL.

Well except for you've now twice touted how great Dobbs was in college for "proof" for why he'll be awesome in the NFL.

Clown.

Passing yards is a dumb way to measure QBs. Typically a QB throws for more yards when they are behind. QBR or QB Rating are better measures of QB play since they measure efficiency rather than just raw totals which can be misleading as a measure of QB play.

For example just because you throw more times than everyone else and end up with more yards doesn't make you a better QB.

bump

Why the bump? I never staked Dobbs impending greatness on just stats. I have said he would win at least 3 superbowls.

Winning Championships + Unprecedented Stats = Legend Status

That is what Josh will do. He will put up numbers the NFL hasn't seen before (I've already predicted he will become the first player in NFL history to throw for 3000+ yards in a season and run for 1000+ yards as well) and he will lead the Steelers to multiple super bowl wins.

but since stats are a dumb way to judge, they can lie and all, what would be his status if he won 3 super bowls with just mediocre stats?

That's not possible.

He has too much talent around him in Pittsburgh to put up just mediocre stats. I've compared Dobbs to Randall Cunningham a lot. And Josh on this Steelers team is the equivalent of Randall on the 1998 Vikings that had Randy Moss, Chris Carter, and Robert Smith. Antonio Brown is arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL. Le'Veon Bell is arguably the best running back. Martavis Bryant is one of the best deep threats. And the offensive line is among the top 5 best lines in the league. Plus I predict JuJu Smith-Shuster also becomes a dominant receiver in the NFL similar to Dez Bryant.

Put all that talent around Dobbs and you have an offense that could be the most explosive in NFL history. There is just no way Dobbs puts up mediocre stats with that much talent around him. He'll have several seasons like 1998 Randall Cunningham with this amount of talent in Pittsburgh.

Which is it? He will or he could?

Once again, make any wager and I will gladly take that bet.

Edit: Don't bet a child or anything. I don't want another mouth to feed. But if you want to put up the pink slip to your car, or the deed to your house, I'm in.

I don't gamble. What I have put at stake however is my reputation. I've never been more confident in a player than I am in Josh Dobbs. Especially now that he ends up in a perfect situation like Pittsburgh.

Sometimes I think D4H is trolling but then he will say something every now and then that I agree with. Kamara being a great fit with the Saints is one example.

Your already extremely negative reputation holds no value here.

If you are so damn confident, put some money (or something actually meaningful) where your mouth is.

Or are you just chicken?
