Several NFL insiders like Adam Schefter reported last year that the Chiefs were prepared to draft Paxton Lynch at the bottom of the 1st round last year before the Broncos scooped him up. So this organization had a superbowl contender last year and were still willing to use a 1st round pick on a QB that would ride the pine.

They have already brought in all the top QBs in this class for visits from Watson, Trubisky, Kizer, Mahomes, and Dobbs. Based on their actions last year and so far this year, they look pretty serious in drafting a QB early. If Todd McShay is correct in saying Dobbs could sneak into the bottom of Round 1, the Chiefs are probably the most likely landing spot. Followed closesly by the Steelers.

Teams put out a ton of false info prior to the draft in hopes that they can convince some other team to reach and do something stupid like drafting Dobbs in Round 1 (2-3 rounds earlier than he should go). The only way to know for sure that a team was willing to draft a player in Round 1 is to hear that team's draft card read aloud at the draft with that player's name on it. The Broncos were willing to draft Paxton Lynch in Round 1.

This year's QB class is the worst in many, many years. Many of these guys will be drafted in the middle to late rounds. Any team that needs even a backup QB would be committing gross negligence by not closely evaluating all of these guys. They are likely to get numerous opportunities (many rounds) to pull the trigger on a lot of them. Dobbs will likely be the 6th to 8th QB drafted, and he won't amount to much in the NFL. Luckily, he applied himself well in school and, when the time comes, he will eventually be able to fall back on that.

I doubt it. If Dobbs is that low on the scouting poll, he won't be picked all that early.

Vol423 is totally correct about teams (scouts, GM's, etc..) giving out false tips or whatever.

This is the draft. You can get FIRED over letting information out. The media gets hints and ideas.. that's all. Some are correct and some aren't.

5-6 scouts opinions aren't the end all be all. I trust guys like Louis Riddick who has connections in NFL front offices and was in contention to be the 49ers GM. He said on Mike and Mike that Josh would go before Kizer as the 4th QB off the board and would go much higher than anyone who watches college football thinks.

Those statements are in line with Todd McShay who said Dobbs goes early in the 2nd round if not in the late 1st.

Those 2 guys are a lot more connected than some poll in a Milwaukee paper citing a few scouts opinions. At this time of the year it's about what the GMs and front office execs think. Not the lowly scouts.

That's why you don't see them ranking Mahomes #1. Most of the league has Trubisky or Watson as QB1. And similarly most of the league has Dobbs ahead of Beathard.

As I said earlier Louis Riddick and Todd McShay are more connected to NFL decision makers than some paper in Milwaukee. For all we know most of those guys are connected to the Packers which is one organization.

Louis Riddick said Dobbs would be the 4th QB off the board ahead of Kizer and Todd McShay said he would go late first to early second round.

Riddick and McShay wouldn't be saying that unless they had good sources on where Josh would likely go.

McShay has been wrong plenty of times. You do know that the NFL guys mislead the espn people? Also, those packer guys just happen to run about quarter of the league's teams?

Like I said earlier they could all or most be from one franchise like the instate Packers. And you only need one team to love you to go in the 1st round. You don't need every team to love you.

Louis Riddick and Todd McShay are both saying he goes early. And like I said months ago. This is the time of year to start listening to the McShays and Kipers of the world because what we're getting now is actual information from teams versus their own opinions.

It ain't just McShay. Daniel Jeremiah on NFL Network said he's also hearing a lot of early day 2 buzz on Josh Dobbs. Louis Riddick said on Mike and Mike that Josh would be drafted before Kizer.

Its not just McShay. He said late first round which caused a stir. But a lot of other analysts are saying Dobbs is now squarely in second round consideration.

Yes. McShay and Kiper have actual information and know when these guys are all going to be picked. Ask Aaron Rodgers and Brady Quinn how they enjoyed that extended time hanging out in the green room.

One or two guys get fed a load of crap from one or two NFL teams, and they start reporting it. Then other guys hear it and start reporting that they're hearing a lot of buzz about it (the initial reports and then the numerous reports quoting the initial reports). This is PRECISELY what the NFL teams want to happen. McShay, Kiper and every other member of the press receive misinformation before the draft. Teams aren't talking to the press about the actual guys they are interested in drafting. That is why McShay, Kiper and everyone else constantly release new versions of mock drafts that are totally different from each other. They are covering all their bases.

Here's a link to Rumors connecting Players to Teams.. You can select AFC west, AFC, north, etc.. in the tabs above. But NOTICE how many QB's the chiefs looked at. When I see teams look into more than 4 in same position, I get the feeling that's who they might draft in 2/3rd rounds. Of course, these aren't all the official/unofficial visits... Aaron Rodgers fall was actually predicted by Mike Mayock. Around this time in 2005 (a few days before the draft) word came out that the 49ers chose Alex Smith over Aaron Rodgers. After that happened many experts like Mayock started predicting that Rodgers would fall. Mayock even predicted the Packers would take him at 25.

In fact, they probably wouldn't have taken him if Mayock hadn't made that prediction. Interesting story.
